This is not written by Kishimoto. Other things happen throughout these Itachi episodes that are not in line with the manga either. They were adapted from a novel someone else wrote. Thing is Kishimoto let people write several novels and approved them so they are technically canon but I'm sure he didnt check these authors works vigourously for plot holes

Im gonna be that guy today. I again say this: The Infinite Tsukiyomi is not a bad thing. If your reality is awful, this could be a blessing for you. For those that suffer, this is a really good thing. Try thinking about it this way: you wake up tomorrow and everything you know has been a lie and your real body has been trapped somewhere. The earth as u know it has been terraformed or post-apocalyptic and all the people u thought u knew are dead/never existed. What then? which reality would u prefer? Not all dreams are bad and reality doesn't have to be good either. Madara and Obito were never wrong. No one in the Infinite Tsukiyomi right now is unhappy or sad or anything. There is no suffering. Isnt this basically our Bible's version of what PARADISE is supposed to be??? Madara has, in his own way, BROUGHT PEACE to the earth. Something to think about.

@Ryan This Itachi story is canon to the world of Naruto. The "mixed canon/filler" is there because they buffed out scenes, adding context. It has nothing to do with cutting to the present because each episode doesn't do that in exception to a few. The materials from this story is pulled from from those novels which are canon

ITACHI CLIFF JUMP CONTEXT: You guys should def watch the Itachi episodes. I don't know why some people are crying about it. Also, I'm not sure if you guys missed that..but Itachi jumping off the cliff wasn't him being "crazy" as Michelle said or for training, he was trying to end his life. His instincts kicked in and he saved himself after realizing he didn't want to die. That's why he told the crow,"Nobody really wants to die." He also had some kind of PTSD after witnessing war at such a young age in addition to Orochimaru saying life has no meaning. Things took a little turn for the better when Sasuke was born, it kinda gave Itachi a different outlook on the meaning of life. :D

Ok, just want to clarify some things. One, it’s irrelevant what people think of for any character for any filler for this discussion. Two, I said the filler is “loosely”based off the light novels, meaning they don’t even adapt it one-for-one, the anime team changed some things (such as Izumi’s fate). Something that isn’t written by Kishimoto is filler, I can understand the argument for light novels because they need to be 'approved', but again, the anime doesn’t even adapt it properly. To clarify once more, I’m not saying the fillers are good/bad, to skip/don’t skip them, I’m just stating it’s still filler at the end of the day. If you like it, cool, just don’t call something canon cause you felt like it. Also I think they’ll enjoy the fillers so I don’t care if they watch them, even if I didn’t like the filler.

This is the legendary jutsu that also got the viewers because the infinite tsukuyomi had us in infinite fillers experiencing them trap in genjutsu for MONTHSSSSS! The community was pisssedddd! Because the fillers were half fillers. As a manga reader we got a tldr of the filler episodes but the anime onlys had each episode of every important character 😭😭🤣🤣🤣. Literally something that could have been done in like 3 episodes was months worth of fillers.

completely agree, the kakashi, itachi and kaguya/sage of six paths and brother fillers, i hated the fillers waiting months for canon on a thursday midday after college but still watched all the terrible filler, i found live reactions through looking at youtube on uzumaki khans filler rants or when theyd randomly skip a week mid filler season or sommat thus adding a week onto when canon would have returned. but those three mini arcs i consider them as part of the canon experience tbh, ESPECIALLY the hogoromo stuff plus i think certain scenes were done better for itachi in his own arc, tbh if you like the character it's a no brainer imo

Filler is until 458. Couple of weeks unfortunately. HOWEVER, there are major things that happen in these episodes because for some dumbass reason, they decided to sprinkle some of the most important canon scenes in between 18 minutes of filler per episode.

That part is completely filler. Not a single part of that Itachi story is canon apart from the canon parts that are shown throughout that we've already seen. The "mixed canon/filler" thing is because there's a little bit of canon material at the start of the episodes (when we cut back to the present briefly) There are 2 canon Itachi light novels out that never got an anime adaptation though, which I would recommend checking out to anyone who hasn't read them!

I loved how it showed everyone's dreams and I really loved Gaara's and Shikamaru's dream, so emotional and wholesome. 451-458 is Itachi's story arc. I know it seems random and out of place but I think y'all will enjoy it. Similar to when yall watched Kakashi's story. Some people consider it filler but its mixed canon/filler so it isn't 100% filler. Itachi's the goat and I think it's worth watching if you wanna connect more to him as a character just like with Kakashi

Sasuke didn't just receive a memory. Itachi basically showed him his life and the moment that made him who he was. His pain, suffering, his values and everything that happened to Itachi that made him who he was. This will be the life of Itachi and the bond he had with people and how is internal conflict was present in Itachi all his life. Like we have seen in the begenning he was on the battlefield and he was marked by the horror of war at only 4 years old. He was really ahead and those ep will show this in detail.

Idk why pierrot done this I won't lie. The worst thing is there's like a minute or 2 of canon at the start of each of the episodes so you can't fully skip them. Very annoying.
