2024-12-07 15:16:20 +0000 UTCThere's 5 seasons. I mean the show's title literally is called Shokugeki no Soma so it will be weird if there are no Shokugeki fights. The main points of the show is about the cooking fights and different dishes so it can feel repetitive to some.

In mha battles between quirks is what every battle is same as it is for shokugekies being battles between cooking. Its differences in techniques, the reason to battle, and the backstories that make the fights interesting. Shokugeki is just the name for an official food battle not a strict type of battle in food wars

I think season 5 is enjoyable enough to watch just not comparable to the previous seasons. I 100% believe the beginning episodes and the last few episodes are the most important parts of season 5 and important to the whole story tho
