Luffy as a character right from the beginning has always been a person that sees a person for who he/she is right at the moment, regardless of race, history, connections etc. Just as Luffy shows you who he is through his actions he also sees a person through their actions, not just words.

Such a well written tragic back story. Never fail to cry during these episodes So, catching up on current knowledge so far on the poneglyphs. No spoilers as this is what you have watched already till this point. The poneglyphs reveal information surrounding the Blank Centruy, which was 800 years ago. 1 in Ohara, likely revealing the name of the ancient kingdom. The hypothesis Clover shares includes that this kingdom had an enemy, and the kingdom is now gone, the kingdom likely created the poneglyphs to scribe the truth so that it could not be destroyed. Coincidently the World Government, consisting of over 170+ nations was formed 800 years ago. 1 Robin finds at a young age 1 in Alabasta that spoke about the Ancient Weapon Pluton and its location (Episode 123) 1 in Shandora (Skypiea) which Robin reveals it tells of the Ancient Weapon Poseidon, named after a god, and its whereabouts (Episode 194) These episodes also stated that the people of Ohara are the only ones in history to be able to decipher the Ancient texts. However, the poneglyph in Skypiea had an extra note that was added by Gol D Roger "I made it here. I will guide this text to the end of the earth". Robin reflects on the 'guide this text' and then shockingly says "Could he mean the Rio Poneglyph?" I would recommend that you rewatch the short poneglyph scenes from the episodes you have watched, as you now know from these 4 episodes the great significance the poneglyphs have towards the overall story of One Piece As amazing as One Piece already is, from the characters and their development, I absolutely love how history also plays a big part. One Piece truly is the GOAT. Pirates, friends, sea monsters, adventure, giants, crazy powers, corruption, variety of cultures, secrets of history and the D., and so much more you've yet to see. I feel like luffy is so ride or die because, unlike 99% of people in the world, social norms and practices mean nothing to him. I mean literally zero. Luffy cares nothing about what anyone has to say about anyone else. The only details he cares about are the ones he personally observes. This was true for zoro as well. The only thing he heard about zoro was that he was a savage, blood thirsty bounty hunter that felt no remorse and couldn't possibly be a good guy. Luffy didn't care and wanted to see for himself. As for what Luffy observed from Robin, she saved his life twice in alabasta, helped him reach the sky island despite it being largely thought of as a myth, and competed with the crew during the davy back fight. As far as luffy is concerned, Robin is one of the family.

Ok I'm gonna TRY to not write another essay on this :) Firstly, my boy Ron been holding back his tears so much lol...its okay bro! I seen this show like 13 times already and these episodes too many times to count. I cry EVERY single time to Robin's backstory. One Piece IS gonna make u cry. That's a fact. My thoughts. Now u know everything why Robin has been weird, not calling their names etc. She's carrying so much childhood trauma/PTSD and for ONCE, she finds a family who not only understands her and accepts her, but is willing to go to the ends of the earth for her. The irony being, she fought to live when everyone wished her dead yet when she decided to die, everyone is fighting for her to live :) ODA is built different I tell u. I think its about this point that I decided One Piece is my favorite anime. I didnt say it out loud - I just realized that I relate so much more to it, I'm always thinking about it and using lessons I learned from it in my life to change for the better: LUFFY and forming deep bonds with people I care about. ROBIN and the value of life and family. CHOPPER and the need to help/save those in need. USOPP and being BRAVE even when you are afraid + looking at someone's actions over the words they may say. ZORO and loyalty + overall strength in everything. Stoicism. …lastly & most importantly my man SANJI and understanding hunger + the importance of food. Selflessness. KINDness. I am so glad you made it here. Some spoiler free facts about the episode. Kuzan Aokiji is an admiral yes. One of 3 as the strongest active members of the Navy, with Sengoku above them imo. Just like Luffy Robin found her DF very young, giving her some years to practice with it. And yes with Saul revealing he is a member of the D "family" in his words makes him a cousin or some similar relative to Luffy, Roger, and Ace. Though they don't share his giant heritage, hence why I assume he is a cousin or other "branch" of that "clan" or family. Aokiji and one of his peers Sakazuki are Vice Admirals at this point. 1 rank below Admiral. Sakazuki is the hooded Vice Admiral that sunk the escape ship, with the attitude of "..we must eliminate even the possibility of evil." Which is crazy for obvious reasons, and you can see it totally shocked Aokiji when it happened. He strongly disagreed with Sakazukis actions here, but it was already too late.

yess finally the quad drop! i always love seeing people's reaction to this moment since it's so emotional. also there's still plenty of time for zoro to have moments and be your fav again, but i honestly am glad to hear how much you love luffy now!! he is the main character and it might be basic but i just love his character so much, he's a bit different to me than other mcs. not sure if ron is the type who only has one favorite character but maybe luffy and zoro will become his top favs together in the end! (or maybe a completely new character that'll be introduced later)

Dunno if you already know, so here's a reminder that Aokiji = Blue Pheasant is Kuzan's admiral epithet. All admirals have a color paired with an animal. As for Luffy, one can't help but love him. Sooner or later you will better understand as to why he is the way he is. There's more to it than what he learned from Shanks. Thank God Robin didn't board the evacuation ship 🙏🏻 Sakazuki, the man who ordererd to blow it up, hope you remember HIM.
