The only complain per say, I would have, is that they really simplified the fighting. Basically they just use the same jutsus already shown to us, despite that making no sence. We know the chidori was created by Kakashi and the rasengan by Minato, so showing them here does not actually make any sense... Kinda wish they would have shown more rodemntary techniques per say, while still being powerful, but with less shape. Like Ashura could have just done wind style, similar to Temaris fan. And Indra just fire and so on...

I will say this type of episodes should really be called something different than "filler". Filler is usually when it is done, to just buy time, and hence irelevant to the actual cannon stories. However this episodes are more of a "How it could have happened". Basically it told us the same story we already knew (Hagoromo and his brother defeated their mother. Hagoromo chosed his younger son, over his eldest, because he showed more compassion despite having less power), but showed us how that story could have played out. The same goes with Itachi, Kakashi and other novels. It's just a way of showing little details and acting out something that was just told to us... Hope that makes sence...

Sasuke's sharingan pattern, sasuke's susano'o colour, sasuke's chidori (which was invented by kakashi) vs Naruto's chakra avatar and Naruto's rasengan (invented by minato) 😭😭😭 laziest shit of all time. This is why we don't like this filler. If it's taken as canon, which it can't be, it completely ruins the respectability of the story. The studio just said "fuck the lore or common sense, let's make it as obvious as we possibly can that they're linked to Naruto and Sasuke". They could've at least put some effort into their abilities.

The only thing disappointing about those episodes that made me a little bit upset was the lack of creativity by the authors when It comes to the characters' powers. They basically reutilized some of the most iconic moves of other characters instead of creating new ones, retconning them at some level, especially the Rasengan. We all know that the Rasengan was originally created/developed by the Fourth Hokage Minato, during the events of the Third Great Ninja War; a technique specifically and deliberately made as a countermeasure against Bijū bombs. And there's no way Ashura was using It thousands of years prior to that, or maybe he was, who knows. One could argue that things are not necessarily created, they are improved/upgraded/rediscovered through the passage of time, especially in this show where themes like spirituality and the concept of reincarnation are so intrinsically central to the plot; maybe, the authors had this same thought process when making those eps, and I'd totally get It. But, still, I think they should've and could've done a way better job with that. complaints aside, I think those five episodes were great, pretty enjoyable, extremely necessary and essential to the comprehension of the Kaguya/Zetsu plot twist, I would recommend to anybody who's watching Naruto for the first time to check them out. And I'm pretty glad they decide to make those, complementing the manga story telling. Without them the plot twist would be lore lacking, consequently a little bit hard to digest (I might confess) and we would've all been in the dark right now.
