@Tara, the writing feels like a childlike adventure with friends rather than high stakes with a thick plot, it takes away from the value of fights knowing luffy or crew aren't facing any 'real' dangers and that they beat every opponent with no development to their character. Over 100 episodes in and the first episode really is no different from the last episode i watched plot wise. I asked when does this show mature into a good series as it is taking quite a while for a so called "great"

I think one piece is just much bigger and greater than anything you’re probably used to. It’s not just about one direct goal with fast pacing, edgy characters, and tons of flashy fights; there are vast places, characters and conflicts to carefully explore in this series and i think the length of it is arguably what makes it more exciting. The story gets deeper and darker as you go along, it ultimately is a journey that no other anime can replicate. Again maybe you’re just not used to it or it’s just not your cup of tea, that’s okay. Personally i fell in love with one piece within the first arc lol and it only got better from there.

it's not overrated, one piece is not a story about just 3-4 characters but about a whole damn world that's why it's long it needs a lot of build up, understanding, it's a journey. When you're caught up you won't say "oh that was so long" but "I need more", so stop complaining, just keep watching and pay attention to the storyline bc every arc you watch are linked

@zer0 This debate really comes down to personal preferences. If you value humor and character development more than plot (like I do), you’ll likely lean towards One Piece. It’s more about the characters and their journeys, whereas Naruto dives into its plot more directly, especially early on. Naruto often has a looming main villain in the shadows, with much of the story building towards a final showdown, even as it navigates through various side villains. In contrast, One Piece doesn’t follow a strictly linear storyline. While there will probably be a big bad eventually, it’s more open-ended, which I personally enjoy. That said, I’m a fan of both shows. I watched One Piece first, which might make me a bit biased, I already considered it the GOAT before watching Naruto. This is something that happens with the “Big 3” in general: the one you watch first often sets the standard in your mind. As for your experience with One Piece, you’re only 200 episodes in. Wondering “when it gets better” isn’t really the right question, it all depends on your preferences and what you enjoy in anime. My advice? Keep going. The arcs do get better, and while the pacing can be a hurdle, the episodes are already out, so just binge and enjoy. Over time, you’ll understand why so many people love it despite the daunting 1,000 episodes and occasional pacing issues.

Ok, saying DS and JJK are better than One Piece is really just insane. It's quite obvious that One Piece cannot be compared to these two shows. So from all the stuff you've written so far, I can see that your problem with One Piece is just that you seem to be impatient as hell. If you just watched further than episode 200 or so, and especially paid attention and were concentrating not only during the fights, you would actually understand quite quickly why One Piece is so complex and so popular. It really seems to me like you're too spoiled by today's 12-episode-per-season anime. Anime that focuses heavily on action. One Piece isn't just about fights, it's mostly about the friendship and journey of the Straw Hats. I'm 21 and watched One Piece in its entirety last year. And that's why I can say that you can learn so much through One Piece and One Piece also brings a lot of good messages. Especially when it comes to socially critical topics. And if you say that the best thing you've seen so far was Arlong Park, that just proves that you probably only cared about the fight between Luffy and Arlong. I mean, there were so many emotional and good moments shown before that that just make you want to keep watching. Like Sanji's Goodbye to Zeff, Usopp overcoming his fears to help Kaya, or Zoro's fight against Mihawk (i.e. the meaning that this fight had for Zoro). And if you really just want fights and obviously ignore the emotional moments of One Piece (which actually define One Piece for the most part), then One Piece just isn't for you and you'd better stop watching because it's clearly not doing anything for you. And simply calling us One Piece Warriors just because our answers to your question contradicts your opinion is just childish and proves that you obviously just want to annoy and trigger "One Piece fans". Because apparently you already have a fixed opinion about One Piece. Or you're just a little snowflake who always feels immediately attacked... 🤷🏻‍♀

I think this sentence just perfectly describes the dynamic and friendship of the Straw Hats. Yep Naruto has more meaning than jjk and DS, not mad just saying what i think. JJK and DS were very enjoyable if I don't think too much about it or decide to turn my brain off, especially DS so I don't have much to say about them lol. Naruto kills lots of characters but the plot is lacking, the writer tried to make the villains as ‘cool’ as he could but forgot to give an actual motivation. Seriously some kid talks to them and they turn good lol. The girl you like dies and you know the reason but still the world has to be placed under genjutsu. Even a fool can tell he was being used by madara I watched both shows in my 20s and had no childhood attachment to any and still say OP is better. And demon slayer and jjk, early chatgpt can write the entire plot in one paragraph.

This journey is a TEAM effort. I wish more of the fanbase would understand that yes it's great to see everyone hold their own, but not all of the crew needs to be the BEST at fighting and combat. No one is worthless. Everyone has their specific role to play. Sanji WILL NEVER kick a woman, so Nami stepped in and whooped Kalifa's ass. Usopp is a coward but he doesn't need to be as physically strong as Luffy, Zoro, or Sanji to be useful. He is just as important!
