not sure if it was already addressed in the comments but the actor of trans character (forgive me i’m not good with names) is not actually trans and is actually i believe a popular Korean actor, the creator of Squid Games said they did try to have a trans actress as the role, but unfortunately South Korea still heavily stigmatizes LGBTQ+ people and with that, there aren’t a lot of “out” trans or even gay actors/actresses in South Korea.

For instance, when Inho was asking about Gi-hun's last name, he used a word that sounded similar to Seong that means "last name" to mess with his head, which is why he says afterwards "ah your last name is 'last name'" and then laughs. But in these subs it feels like the translator didn't understand the joke or wanted to localize and made it a pun of the English phrase "Unsung Hero" with "Unseong Hero" which wasn't what he said at all.

If they had accepted both of them, they would not have lost. The guy who messed up the stone throwing joined their team after they rejected the mother-son duo.
