Another channel I watch that is doing Naruto and One Piece at the same time just admonished its Naruto audience, saying they wished they more like their One Piece audience lol. LOL I love One Piece and only keep to the manga now but it does get annoying that first time watchers think One Piece has horrible pacing and guess what, IT DOES. so just a little insight. Luffy's gears arent really about his Devil Fruit per say, Just different ways he uses his devil fruit...if that makes sense. Like Gear 2 isnt anything special. Its just using his rubber insides to dope. Gear 3 is just inflating his bones. Its not like its a special power.

This is just ridiculous! Luffy is the type to learn from his/others battles and come up with new creative ways to fight. We know gear 2 was inspired by his fight with Bellamy and his spring powers. I think gear 3 is inspired by his fight with Enel/Eneru (Slim Shady ;) He fought a battle with weight on his arm and he saw the destructive power it could do. Its a very Luffy thing to Blow air into his bones since hes rubber to do similar damage. (For the ones who know, Yes...I know. I wont spoil anything :)

Almost everything will tie into the greater story or someone else’s story down the line. Having watched and read many anime/ manga I’ve never seen anyone really do it like Oda. I mean, let's be real here, I don't know how you expect to be immersed in the worldbuilding of one piece when you skipped all of it and started at episode 1015... It doesn't do the story any justice when you start at 1015 and then choose to restart with R&G, it just won't be the same. The show is literally about a journey through the seas and you skipped the entire journey. One Piece isn't everyone's cup of tea and it's fine. I have just grown attached to the characters (including side characters) and I love Oda's storytelling and worldbuilding.

I guess I would ask what do you like about One Piece? Because skipping from 300 to 1015 sounds absolutely wild to me. I didn't think the story really started to coalesce and truly get interesting until after Enies Lobby (which would be around that ep 300 mark). Of course, I watched most of it as it came out and I prefer story over simply fighting so if you don't care much for story and just want battles and power ups I guess that kind of makes sense that you'd get bored and want to skip to the action in "Roof Piece" 🤷🏻‍♀️
