They could finish in the 4th season, but the author wouldn't complete all the storylines in that case – the moms, the tension between Erina and Soma, Nikumi's jiggling (there wasn't enough meat master in previous seasons :D). So this season is to complete these lines. Anyway, if you feel like dropping it, jump directly to the 10th episode, the last 4 episodes perfectly close all the stories and answer all the questions about the Nakiri and Yukihira families.

I figured that was the mom in the opening too 9:25. I think the meat master is American I think or maybe half American half Jap? Idk I assume she's American since the first time we seen her she was in an American fit. Aye Michelle mentioned Anohana at the end I think y'all would enjoy that one bro that show made me cry hard 😩

Give it a few episodes as the show slowly wraps up answering some of your questions about their mothers and why Yukihira's dad enrolled him to the school. I also look forward to the next anime. There's so many different ways a game can go, and specifically with volleyball the setter has so many options to the point where most of the time, take kageyama for example, you can paint the picture in your mind of what he'll do and most of the time he won't do that thing. That's what makes any sport IRL so interesting, and why sports anime don't get repetitive. Of course, this is all just my experience with it. Everybody's different. Forgot to mention the players as well, most of the time we'll watch mavs vs lakers for example and say "luka vs lebron" or at least luka and kyrie vs lebron and AD. The matchups between the players and their different personalities sells the game itself. That's the same in sports anime, Hinata finally playing in a high stakes game against kenma instantly made that game a must-see for me.

But the purpose of the series from season one to five is to find out why did his dad enroll him into the school in the first place because originally his dad had no plans in ever enrolling him until he was persuaded by Nakiri’s grandpa, so season five will answer that and wrap this all up
