2025-02-06 01:33:25 +0000 UTCDub Naruto is Better than sub, Pain, Madara, Itachi, etc voice in Japanese can't compare to the english dub versions, also those who watch in English dub tend to have a better understanding of the show since they don't have to miss things by reading. I hate that some fans bully reactors into choosing Sub or Dub instead of letting them decide for themselves as reactors.

On the other hand, a filler can be really good, I've enjoyed a lot of things that I consider filler. Contrary to a lot of people, I've enjoyed DBGT a lot back in the day and still cherrish it, yet it is not a "legitimate" story based on my statements. I've enjoyed the Kakashi ANBU fillers so much when they released. But I still keep in mind that these to me are illegitimate stories. You said it expands the world. Yeah, I'm a 100% with you on that one. But you say it can't hurt the story. That I don't agree with. To me it can (emphasis on can) hurt it, and a lot sometimes. Take the girl from this filler, the ability they gave her seems so far fetched and kinda out of place, their reaction to it kinda says it all. Not because it would have been impossible for it to me found in the main story, although I doubt that a tad bit. But because if you give an ability like that to a character you kinda expect her to be a serious character in the main story. Hence why Ron was like "why didn't we see these guys earlier" At the end of the day I don't mind fillers existing and being there, as I said, I enjoy some of them, but these episodes being labeled as "manga cannon" that the sole issue I have with it. As Michelle read that it was "manga cannon", I could bet that in their mind, you find that in the manga, but we know you don't.

Is dragon ball super filler because the anime episodes released before most manga chapters even came out? It's tricky, but it ain't that deep. Labeling these episodes as filler or canon doesn't help or hurt the show, it just expands it. They can wonder why characters haven't shown up earlier, but in hindsight, that is just the way they think and want to interpret the expansion of the story/lore. Also, a good portion of Boruto is written by Kishimoto, it is just not linear.

Would the story be altered by someone other than the original author then it becomes illegitimate whether it is a good addition or not. Take boruto, it is literally labeled as "supervised" by Kishimoto. What should I take this statement as? That he's the one making the decisions, or that he's not? Yes, I don't consider Boruto as cannon if that's what you ask. For that one shot, it is entirely Kishimoto, so it ain't the same, but neither of those compare to what this stretch of episodes are. They're under the banner of "Naruto Shippuden" and listed as "manga cannon", if you watch boruto you know you're watching boruto with all the context it comes with (different mangaka, only "supervised" by Kishimoto), if you read the Minato one shot you know you're reading something that released remotely. But now they're out there wondering why were these characters not shown earlier. Well, the answer is simple, because this is filler that's all my statement above was about.

The mangaka rarely has anything to do with an anime adaptation apart from obviously earning money from the revenue it makes, and that's the case with Kishimoto. Studio Pierrot are the reason for filler existing. Shueisha wouldn't publish the light novels if Kishimoto didn't approve of it. They wouldn't have been made in the first place, Kishimoto draws the cover arts for the novels after all. Your logic makes no sense, that's like saying Boruto isn't canon or Minato's one shot isn't canon. Just because it's not a part of the manga's original run doesn't mean that material isn't canon

I might be wrong for believing that, I might be right. But as you can see with this kind of situation. It only hurts the story. Like Ron wondered not knowing this isn't part of the manga (cause let's be honest they prolly think it is based on the label "manga cannon"), why weren't they shown earlier? Reason why I say it hurts the story. Kishimoto agreeing on this being released doesn't mean much to me, cuz even if he did not, hmm, I'm pretty sure Shueisha would have the last word anyway lmao. So much uncannon things have all been approved with the hundreds of fillers, and from them so many things that skewed the story have come out of it that I really feel should be disregarded (yes, I hate fillers)

They are commissioned by Sheuisha and illustrated, edited, or/and approved by Kishimoto. The authorities say yes, it is canon. Random minor/situational characters not showing up before or later doesn't mean anything.

It first showed in ep 489 - last upload time stamp 39:12 was when you guys first noticed it but it went by fast so you didn’t realize what it was. It showed Choji, Neji and Kiba being healed. That was in Shikamaru’s dream and he woke up. This represents his regret of him failing that mission so long ago. How I took this is that he wants to make sure this current mission is a success without any possible casualties, he doesn’t wanna make the same mistake he did last time as a leader

They even played Shikamaru’s theme song (the last ost that played in the first episode) which is so fire and it doesn't play that much at all, the last time I remember it played was when he fought Temari in the chunin exams. Also that guy Minoichi - this is the first time yall are seeing him, he wasn't in any previous arcs/fillers

I've always wanted the Naruto universe to explore the plethora of other lands and shinobi and their problems, and it's really cool that they open the opportunity to see that.
