It's still early to understand the power level of the various characters. For what has already been told in the story Garp explained that the 4 emperors are the 4 most powerful pirates. To bring down a single emperor you need all the power of the navy plus the 7 warlords. Consider that the navy has 3 Admirals and a Grand Admiral, so 4 marines of Aokiji's level. Ace is the commander of Emperor Whitebeard's Second Fleet and a very young pirate anyway. It is easy to understand that his current level is much lower than the top characters. From what Shanks said, Blackbeard always remained in the shadows for a long time aboard Whitebeard's ship and never wanted to become commander. In one battle he managed to cause the eye injury of Shanks who is among the 4 most powerful pirates. What I think Shanks wanted to say to Whitebeard is that probably no one knows Bleackbeard's true strength and therefore it is perhaps still early for Ace to face him.

I really suggest to rewatch One Piece episode 151. Now that you’ve watched eps 313-316, that episode will really help to give so much context to what’s going on in the overarching world That’s the episode where the Gorousei (Five elder stars) was introduced. We learned of the three great powers for the first time, but at that time we didnt know the 3rd power (which Garp revealed as being the Yonkou - the four emperors). And we also see Whitebeard for the first time, and see Shanks departing to meet Whitebeard and bringing the alcohol that they ended up drinking. And showed that World Govt was worried about them meeting Whitebeard also mentioned Sengoku when reminiscencing the old era with Shanks. And in 151, we learned he is the Fleet Admiral of the Marines (higher rank than Admirals like Aokiji) We were introduced to 2 new warlords and it also revealed what Blackbeards goal is. As a bonus we also saw what Marco (blonde hair guy - 1st commander of Whitebeard) originally looked like before Oda fleshed everything out

Basically Shanks is not happy that Whitebeard is okay with Ace going after Blackbeard for killing a crewmate, as Blackbeard managed to scar Shanks. And Shanks is stronger than Ace, so Shanks is worried about Ace's recklessness. Also Ron, everyone memes about how Whitebeard should be called Whitemustache, but actually in Japanese Blackbeard and Whitebeard are Kurohige and Shirohige, with hige meaning facial hair so it can be both beard and mustache. So technically "White facial hair" is the correct translation but sounds goofy lol

There have been spoilery comments about it but I don't remember if it was in this channel in particular. For example some reactor (can't remember who) wondered if Shanks was in Whitebeard's crew and some comment said something like "no but he was part of another famous pirate's crew". From comments like that people can draw conclusions and accidentally think they came from the show itself, so when reveals happen they will be less surprised.

Okay, starting with the original generation: Whitebeard, Gol D. Roger, Garp, and Sengoku Whitebeard and Roger got into fights plenty of times. This is how Whitebeard got acquainted with Shanks and Buggy since they were apprentices on Roger's ship during the 1st generation. I would say Shanks and Buggy are in the middle generation between Roger's time and our current time in the show. Shanks built his way up to being on par with Whitebeard as an emperor. Ace and Blackbeard are (and were respectively) both from Whitebeard's crew. Blackbeard killed a crew member and fled, which made Ace go after him. Shanks is telling Whitebeard that it's still too early for Ace to go up against Blackbeard, especially since Blackbeard managed to give the scar on Shanks' face even though Shanks wasn't drunk (that was the point he was making when he was mentioning his scar to Whitebeard)

Water 7 will always be my favorite arc because of the huge impact it had on me and just how much expectations it blew out of the water. There's plenty of amazing arcs after this one but it's just hard to beat how much I was wow'd as a younger viewer with One Piece. I think that's why a lot of people still have Water 7 at the top. I wouldn't be surprised if yall have different favorites as you progress through though.

Blackboard was a cree member in Whitebeards crew until Blackbeard betrayed them and killing a crew member. Great summary. i would say that Shanks warning, is not simply just a bad feeling. Shanks as one of the four emperors was somehow scarred on the face by Blackbeard and caught off guard. Shanks says he didn't have his guard down. So what Shanks is literally telling Whitebeard is that Ace is not strong enough to capture Blackbeard. Combine this with the fact that Blackbeard was able to hide his true intentions under the nose of Whitebeard and kill a whitebeard division commander, Blackbeard should not be underestimated.

Also one thing I will say about One Piece when it comes to power-scaling, its so different to Naruto which mostly has characters who are extremely strong because of their talent which makes age & experience not too relevant but in One Piece age plays a huge role. Regarding Ron’s question about the relation between Whitebeard, Ace, Shanks & Blackbeard - • Ace works under Whitebeard as the 2nd Division Commander • Blackbeard was also working under Whitebeard and was in the 2nd Division under Ace’s Command. It was mentioned multiple times now that he killed another Division Commander in the Whitebeard Pirates, jumped ship and then eventually started his own crew (his reason for killing that crew member will be explained of course) • Whitebeards only rule in his crew is that you’re not allowed to kill another crew member and that crime will be punishable by death. Whitebeard of course wants Blackbeard dead & so does Ace, who feels responsible cuz he was the one in charge of Blackbeard as the 2nd Division Commander so he set out to find him (that’s how the Straw Hats ended up crossing paths with him) • Shanks was an apprentice on Gol D. Roger’s crew when he was a kid so he clearly has a decent relationship with Whitebeard (who would’ve been one of Roger’s main rivals back in the day along with people like Garp & Sengoku which is what Whitebeard referred to in this episode about “that era”) Shanks’ whole purpose of meeting Whitebeard and telling him to stop Ace is that he simply has a bad feeling about Blackbeard which is why he said “it’s not the right time for those two to fight yet” which I interpreted as “Ace isn’t ready yet” There’s of course gonna be more to all of this but for now this is all the information that has been given so far, added with some of my own interpretations of how I would see it if I was watching for the first time

Shanks is basically warning Whitebeard about Blackbeard. He's saying that he got that scar from Blackbeard which is basically implying that he is strong enough to do so and that sending Ace, who is strong in his own right, would be a mistake.

WhiteBeard is one of the Emperors of the Sea like Shanks who reigns in the New World. Thats why the navy was so worked up. Whenever 2 emperors meet, its likely gonna be a power struggle battle so thats why they were mobilizing. Shanks came to warn Whitebeard about Blackbeard Teach who he got the scar from. Hes powerful, yet someone unknown like BB could wound him so hes telling Whitebeard to not allow Ace, his second division Commander to continue going after him. If you go back to Alabasta, when we met Ace he told the Strawhats he was looking for BB because he killed a member of Ace's crew and fled. Anyway, Shanks told him BB is much more powerful than he appears and that Ace is too confident because of the respect he gets on the crew and the position he holds so if they fight, hes likely gonna lose. Whitebeard told him no, he has to pay for his mistake which angered Shanks and he pulled his sword and they clashed. This info is important guys. Things to take away: Theres something called Haki, which Shanks used to make Whitebeard's crew fall unconscious. When the two Emperors clashed, the Sky seemed to open up. And lastly, dont fk with Nami's money cause she can also beat the living crap out of Luffy as well LMAO
