Kaguya-sama: Love Is War - S3 Episode 2

Comments

The sound and style remand me of "Cruel Angel's Thesis" From Evangelion.

Roger Powell

This episode being the foreshadowing for one of the next episodes XD

I believe the song that Hayasaka was singing "My Feelings" in the karaoke room was a parody version of Kana Nishino's song, Aitakute Aitakute(I miss you, I miss you).

Phyllis

The ending song was a parody of Starship troopers xD

Also, in Japanese "Okii" can be used to describe the loudness of his voice or "big voice". It's a double meaning which the viewer is initially led on to believe something else was "big". Definitely harder to understand without context.

MW

The ED is a reference to Starship Troopers mixed with the tale of Princess Kaguya from S2 E3 (Shirogane getting Kaguya back from the moon). This time it was Shirogane's dream, similar to S1's ED when Kaguya was dreaming.

MW

The season 1 ending song that you were thinking of ended with Kaguya waking from a dream after Shirogane puts his hand on her shoulder and this ending song is a "continuation" of that dream except this time it's Shirogane being awoken by Kaguya. 🥰

Hope you guys read this cause this was actually a really good episode for Hayasaka and Shirogane. You guys might’ve missed it when you were moving Teddy, but it’s actually really important. “Can you show the real Miyuki Shirogane, the one who’s not overreaching or bluffing, who hides none of his vulnerabilities.” Maybe it’s the romcom aspect that makes people forget but doesn’t it seem oddly strange that Shirogane wants to get really good at everything without showing it to anyone (other than fujiwara). He’s not like the prestigious geniuses around him either, he has to study intensively to reach the top of the board and makes no one find out. I can’t say more about Shirogane cause we’ll get there. Hayasaka as well, she has to constantly keep a mask for everyone else around her for kaguya sake, while kaguya gets to enjoys the student council and being in love (granted kaguya is going thru her own stuff). Also the ending is based off the “the tale of princess kaguya” Yk the one when they were looking at the moon and talking about a folk tale. So the mission was to take back kaguya from the moon or so i believe.

14:06 When Hayasaka was going off, felt like she was actually saying what she feels about Kaguya, but veiled in the pretense it was her little sister. She is good at acting xD P.S. The "big" in the subs later on in the episode meant the loudness of his voice. The word used in japanese was "Okii" which can mean big when talking about things or loud when talking about sounds. So it was a translation problem. The words were the same but with different context gives totally different meanings. In the English subs tho, trying to show those meanings the words being the same got changed :p The scene in the ending where Miyuki woke up from the dream, they seemed older, like maybe they were in college. So cute!
