when these episodes first came out it really symbolized an end of an era cuz during this time they started doing promos for boruto and i believed the movie came out like a week after the last episode of Naruto release so all these funny wholesome episodes were like a way of saying naruto's generation comes to an end and promoting boruto films more

There really is no such thing as anime canon. It is either in the manga or not. The term anime canon is just made up from the studios, so that they get more viewers for their filler episodes. Most of the time the Mangaka (in this case Kishimoto) doesn't know or care about the "Anime Canon" episodes, so they never use or consider them in their storys, which in future manga chapters complete contradiction to the "anime canon episodes" are born.

I don't know who told you that but, these eps are not manga canon, they're anime canon. all of those eps about Naruto and Hinata's wedding were exclusively created for the anime; there is no such thing in the manga. No this (495) was storyboarded directed and solo key animated by the series director Masahiko Murata. This is fantastic Kanada-school animation. There is no problem with budget or staff or deadlines. This section (last arc) of Shippuden looks and moves GREAT.
