Sure, weg is proof that humans dabbled in "a world beyond this one" or "a forbidden realm" (basically forbidden magic), but he also explicitly states, "This is a CURSE known as WEG. There appear to be other magic knights who have similar CURSES". And by the way, Gordon's dad does not have a 5-leaf grimoire. I've seen this misunderstanding happen repeatedly with other reactors, even I was confused on first watch. At 10:48, if you pause, you'll see it's a 3-leaf clover. It's just the color scheme of the magic and book is close to or the same as Asta's grimoire. At 10:55, just to note, this is Asta's grimoire as suggested by the direction it's facing. A 5-leaf clover is rare, even more rare, than a 4-leaf clover so I can't see Gordon's dad having a 5-leaf, just outta nowhere. The story would make a big deal about it imo.

Still a child and has a "child-like arrogance". (Not really) Not to mention their siblings are extremely arrogant and too prideful. He wouldn't trust them, to never let it slip out and risk them cursing themselves on accident.

But that's from using the power and unlocking that level of access to anti-magic. And its also temporary, disappearing when he deactivates anti magic mode. He wasn't cursed the moment he received a 5 leaf grimoire. Gordon's dad isn't cursed either, he deals with curses (mentioning since it showed he had a 5 leaf grimoire too) Also the Weg is more of a sign of having dabbled in forbidden magics, not of being cursed by forbidden magics. Basically, I don't see how you could say Asta was technically cursed. You could say he's cursed in a sense but not on technicality :p

2025-02-13 05:14:01 +0000 UTCThanks for the drop, just to clarify at 10:58 that was Asta's 5 leaf grimoire coming out, not Nathan's (Gordon's dad). Nathan doesn't have a five leaf. We saw the cover of Nathan's grimoire at 10:48, its a 3 leaf.

You bring up a good point by saying he has a devil in his grimoire which is different from being cursed by magic from the other world. But I say wouldn't a normal magic user be cursed if they had received that 5 leaf grimoire?

You forget quicker than I do π Also, if Asta said it, it's most likely true tbh. βπΎπ€Also, also, keep in mind, this is curses, not powers. Most characters we've seen that are cursed have some kind of weakness or negative side effect applied to their magic, body, etc. Don't let Asta, who is an anomaly, fool you into thinking that having a curse is actually having a power. Asta's weg curse & grimoire are just unique because Asta has zero magic. He would never be able to use his grimoire meaningfully otherwise since holding any of the swords sucks away magic (which would technically be a negative effect of a curse for a normal magic user).

2025-02-13 02:20:33 +0000 UTCDesync issue with the overlay in this one, Ron and Michelle go into a discussion in between and the overlay just keeps playing so its desynced :p They paused at 17:54 of the reaction video and continued at 18:37 of the reaction video, with the pause happening at 18:33 of the episode. The syncing is right at 20:18 of the reaction video onwards tho. P.S. About the cursed people currently in the kingdom, there were more than 2 or 3. The one at the Black bulls hideout was Henry, with his curse of sucking people's magic away, and his curse was pretty strong. Also he said there were quite a few in the royal capital if you count the smaller ones, but the bigger ones they showed two of them in the capital. I think Michelle is right, with it being Captain Charlotte and Captain William. That was with the size of the map Nathan had magic-ed out at first, when he expanded his range he found a huge one (stronger than the other ones) in the Heart kingdom. Also, Asta isn't technically cursed. He has a devil in his grimoire, that's different from being cursed by magic from the other world :p
