I just want to put it out there, in bleach, there's some great VAs, and amazing moments in the sub that you will absolutely miss out on in the dub. They just didn't emphasize some really cool moments the way that it was done in the sub.

I think the one piece experience is greatly diminished if you don't binge tens of episodes at once; thats what I did during the pandemic when everyone worked from home. There's a few arcs I felt were really slow even while watching at that pace, so I can see why they're not into one piece as much as other shows like naruto - especially if they watch 4 episodes a week during a slow arc and basically nothing happens

Full Metal Alchemist (2003 version) was actually fire in the DUB version (Brotherhood just didn't cut it for me). I forgot the name of the voice actor that did Edward but he KILLED it. I've been watching anime for over 20 years now and I love watching anime in Japanese but 2000's anime just hit different in dub. It's like there were actually standards for voice acting back in the day instead of the crap we get now. (Naruto dub is the biggest fail in HISTORY, except for Sasuke's VA which was really decent) even the sub is more bearable despite him still being voiced by a woman.

Another good thing to keep in mind is sticking with smaller shows. Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Dr.Stone, Code Geass are examples of shows that have a lot of episodes for them to watch, it's great to have those since they're classic or have stable fan bases (for the most part), but sticking to new shows will have less impact on their schedule.

I know there's a the loud group in comments about bleach dub, but don't do it. You'll miss an absolutely iconic line in sub, and the va work isn't any better, and in a lot of cases worse than sub. The sound engineering on the dub sucks for a ton of early episodes as well.

Please keep Bleach in sub, by the way. I’m not trying to be unfair to dub fans, but after waiting so long for you guys to start bleach, it would be disappointing if it were watched in dub. It’s my favorite anime, and for me, the dub is simply unwatchable. I don’t want to come off as naggy since I’ve brought this up multiple times before already but I really think you guys should consider doing less shows in the future. One way you could do this is by not replacing certain shows currently when you’re finished with them and rearranging the schedule so that you have days off, or just extra time in the day for yourselves. I’ve always felt that you guys were doing too much, it’s too many shows to focus and remember and the daily uploads on top of it.. I don’t think I’ve seen another reactor do so much. I feel like in the future this would be the best thing to consider, otherwise you’re bound to get burnt out frequently and it’ll make the content seem forced and less fun for both sides. That’s all.. I’m glad you guys and especially Michelle are feeling better though, can’t wait for the uploads to come ^^

All anime sound better in Japanese but Bleach would be an exception. Many hardcore fans usually praise the dub version far more than the sub version, even when you research it online. And let's be real here, the dialogue between characters is cheesy in both English and Japanese. (Btw, I can't stand Toshiro's voice in Japanese. It sounds like a preteen school girl.)

I'm not a sub elitist. I just prefer sub for bleach. I found the dub just sounded cheesy. Also with dub Johnny yong bosh does VA for the MC in so many anime I find it a bit jarring. FMA, Code geass, death note etc could have been dub as I find them both 50/50 personally. With newer anime the dub is becoming a lot better as there is more variety and talent in the voice actors pool.

I've found myself living in that lumberjack situation the last year, I ended up taking a longer break than usual in december to get a breather and shift my mind to other things. Life saver! Hard disagree. Bleach was my first ever anime and I had no idea about dub and sub so started it in dub. Once I caught up to the episodes only sub was available as sub was about a month or more ahead of dub. Then once i started watching it in sub I realized it was far better

P.S. May I suggest that you both react to the DUB version of Bleach ? Or make a poll and ask. I normally DON'T suggest dub versions, but Bleach is one of those hard boiled animes that did really well in the dub version. I personally prefer Ichigo's English voice actor to the Japanese. I used to submit time off requests for a random day weeks or even months in advance! That way, even when I feel I don’t “need,” I create space/an opportunity for myself to at least strongly consider if some rest/taking the day off would be a good idea.
