It's just reality that nobody watches filler in 2025. There's no need to, the whole point of filler in the first place is to let the manga build up more so the pacing doesn't suffer for the canon episodes. These episodes don't need to be watched when you can just get to the next arc. It would ruin their viewership for a few weeks and ruin their momentum watching the show

for the record guys, Brook is 88 years old just to compare all of them, here are all of the crew's ages: Chopper 15 years old Luffy and Usopp are 17 Nami is 18 Zoro and Sanji are 19 Robin is 28 and Franky is the oldest, being 34 years old P.S. you're gonna see a lot of things of what's happening in the rest of the OP world in between arcs. That's really cool ting about One Piece, is that you don't only see Luffy's crew and know what happens to them, ut get to know about the details and news happening in this huge world! ODAs favorite part about drawling one piece is when the crew is just chilling on the ship. So please keep that in mind. He draws more action and drama scenes then he’d actually like to because he knows the fans want that and that helps the story.

I think this is also in part because Luffy instinctively knows that people naturally have a motivation to protect their loved ones. Not that he does this on purpose , but he focuses more on friendship with the added benefit that they will all lookout for each other.

Oda tells you what you want to know (like the result of Ace and Blackbeard’s fight) when this information is going to be more impactful. Sadly right after it wouldn’t do it. Yeah, every Arc in One Piece is so unique, and it’s amazing. There is something for everyone. And they all connect at some point. Thiller Bark is definitely the ‘spooky’ one.

Luffy doesn't really look for skill or strength when recruiting more members. If Luffy finds someone funny and/or good natured, he'll try his best to befriend them. Any person's "value" is totally secondary to Luffy. Remember when he met Chopper? Luffy spent the whole arc begging him to join but he didn't even learn he was a skilled doctor until after they left the island. He repeatedly asked Sanji to be his cook before ever tasting his food or seeing him fight.

This did give me filler vibe when i first started. but looking back on it, I really did enjoy the arc. I love Oda trying diff types of arc/storys for the major earlier arcs. This arc, Skypiea, water 7, alabasta feels very unique to each other. Civil War, GOD, gov't, halloween feel.
