Just a small tipp, no canon arc in one piece is there for no reason literally every arc has significance in the grand scheme of things. Many people dislike this arc because all they want is flashy fights but thats not what OP is about and Oda literally confirms that every arc. Sure there are cool fights and stuff in one piece but one of Odas big goals is literally only to make people laugh and (most of the time) feel good. Everyone who reads the SBS (the fan questions from oda) knows his personality and that hes literally just a big goofball who happens to have crazy dedication and one of the craziest imaginations in human history.

for me, this triller bark is just unfortunately sandwiched by peak water7/enies lobby arc and the next peak saga.. but there are a lot of important scenes just like skypea and funny and emotional scenes too.. but when you compare it to earlier arcs, for me triller bark is better than the romance dawn arc, ring long, drum island, and reverse mountain arc.. but its undeniable that there are annoying parts in this arc..

Every arc written by Oda has value for the story because it gives pieces of information for the lore of One Piece. Those who say otherwise have never read One Piece and are only interested in the epic moments (which are also present in this narrative arc). It always depends on what a person is looking for in a work. As far as I'm concerned, I always watch Thriller Barc willingly, especially in the animated version (the only arc in which the anime is superior to the manga in my opinion) because it always makes me laugh out loud.

These arcs as silly and kind of slow paced they are, really have allot of value later on in future arcs. i think allot of us one piece fans forget why we fell in love with the series and is really a diservice to the series as a whole. and mind you i was one of them with skypia! but in a recent arc oda turned skypia from a 4/10 to a 9/10 for me. But then again i read it in the manga so it hasnt gotten into anime form yet so allot of one piece fans dont understand the importance of these arcs right now! but soon everyone will see the glory of GODA! 🙏🤣

One Piece has great diversity in its story, so while this arc is not one of my favourites, I have seen a lot of people claim that it is their #1 lol. This arc just leans a bit too goofy for me but it is undeniably funny and has some incredible moments. The only reason I go out of my way to say this and be kinda negative is because I hyped the shit out of Water 7 so it's only fair to be honest with the following arc. I say just enjoy it as it comes. One Piece is like a roller coaster. It has ups and downs, twists and turns. All for the sake of a complete and enjoyable ride. In order to have multiple peaks, you need to go back down. Otherwise all you have is 1 peak that too way too long to reach and a huge disappointing drop to the end like some other shows/anime. The beauty of One Piece is that there isn't a unanimous consensus on which peak is the highest.

This arc isn’t bad. It’s got some really great moments. And there’s so much about this arc that is important. Meaning if the strawhats skipped this island the journey is different. You meet some great characters, the world of thriller bark is unique and a fun watch. The pacing could be worked on but that’s about it. This arc is also in the middle of 2 fan favourite arcs. So when you said people just want to skip to the good part you kind of right. Being after Water 7 and before what some people say is the best arc of one piece gives it quite possibly the worst positioning lol. But a lot happens in this arc and nothing happens as well. Iykyk.
