TLDR; What Letan said. It's really just a take it or leave it kind of thing. I'm not living anywhere near as good as him, but his words can still be applied to my life in smaller ways. He's not selfish, or coming off as such, for wanting to give advice that may help someone through his own experiences.

Even in that sense, you can turn a square into a circle by rounding out its edges; though people are more complicated than shapes on paper. The point is to be inspiring in telling said square that it can be anything, or do anything it wants. Obviously, it's going to be hard to change ones habits over time, but that doesn't mean it's impossible or shouldn't be done. I don't believe it's reasonable to call Ron "fake" or selfish for sharing what has worked for his life. If you find his words to be useless and not apply to your situation, then move on and do you. There's no need to say what he's doing is pointless because there may be someone who finds what he's saying to be helpful.
Also, the whole "put yourself in other['s] shoes" thing doesn't apply very well here, in my opinion. He's addressing a general audience, not a specific person or set of people. This is while sharing aspects of *his* life. He can't possibly look at, or consider, all the different types of shoes you're thinking of, and then proceed to try on each one before speaking. That's unrealistic, especially for a casual vlog that's giving general advice. He can do nothing but speak from his own experiences, and hope it sticks with or inspires somebody. Hope this helps you understand the intent behind the vlogs that he posts a bit more.
Apologies in advance if this came off as aggressive in any way. That's not the tone I was going for. I know it's hard to tell through text sometimes.

Every advice is advice from self experience. You take what is useful and discard the rest. All advices aren't supposed to be catered to you since we all have different experiences. If it doesn't work for you, you look elsewhere. It shouldn't stop anyone from sharing their own experience.

feels like youre tryna fake it til you make it, when you give advice it almost feel like youre only giving advice that fits your own experience. try to expand your perspective and youll see that most ppl cannot relate to your experience. just a tiny bit selfish, try to put yourself in other shoes.
