She had to marry to the next heir of the Roulacase family, so saying "I won't let you have her" means "I won't let you be the next heir so easily". It's just a typical, patriarchal love triangle that we've seen in many pieces of media before, nothing particularly weird in Black Clover's time frame. Would be weird with today's morals but it's not the case. I just think you've been a bit too unforgiving towards Langris in general, but everyone's entitled to their own views and all <3
