JJK and bleach have a very similar fan base issue so JJK for example defeat curses/monsters that already seem to have their own mysteries to them bleach defeat hollows/monsters. Imo, Tite Kubo (author/mangaka of bleach) is literally a poet who happens to be making manga. The symbolism and expression of feelings in this show always give me chills even in smaller moments. He also loves using rain as symbolism, seen in Ichigo this episode saying “it feels as if the rain has stopped” or orihimes “if I were the rain” quote earlier on in episode 7 or 8. You can find profound meaning in so many lines in this show. Can’t wait for you guys to get deeper into it.

The way Byakuya just one shotted Ichigo with ease, this scene is classic. Byakuya is one of my favorite characters. Calm and cool demeanor but a savage like Itachi. I have said this before, but kingdom (anime about the unification of chinese citystates) would be right up your alley. It historically happened, with some real life characters in it. But it's also about strategy. It follows a character that has the dream of becoming the greatest general that ever lived. He starts small as a foot soldier but gradually starts making a name for himself, first given command of like 5/10 people, and so on. It really is a great anime. It is one of those that when i started watching it, i benched all 5 seasons, as season 5 was being released when i started watching it. I truely think that it would be something you both enjoy. First season is a bit rough around the edges, but so are many good anime's. Maybe watch a trailer to help decide if you'd like it?
