Nina is definitely a very unpooular character. 86 as you recall had a far more interesting character imo in Annette (when she was younger didnt know better with racism etc) but showed clear regret. Both are scientists and lived very sheltered, rich lives. Just thought I would bring up the comparison. Though I actually really like Annette lol.

He didn't want an easy victory which Schneizel offered in chess, and Schneizel pointed out the Emperor would ruthlessly take the win even if it's an easy one. But Lelouch backed off, which gave Schneizel a hint of Zero's personality, as Schneizel now knows the "new" Zero has matching attitude to Lelouch so the suspicion of Lelouch returning has increased. And yeah, Nina is trash lmao

In real life, over 1 million Chinese had to flee their own country after a civil war. They fled to Taiwan, a tiny island outside of China, and declared themselves the true Chinese government. Similar to how over 1 million Japanese in Code Geass had to flee their home country, to a tiny island outside of China, and declare themselves the nation of Japan. This is what Michelle was talking about. Many speculate that it's the most likely thing that's going to cause World War 3. China said it will be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027 and they seem to be 100% serious. It's a horrible situation for both the Chinese who fled and the native Taiwanese.
