2025-04-11 15:39:15 +0000 UTCI noticed you saying on some scenes "Oh thats a weird shot from oda" or smth along the lines but you have to remember that the anime and the manga are different things Oda hasnt much involvment in the anime, just for important key moments. So often when there are reaaaally weird scenes, chances are pretty high that it wasnt in the manga and that its toei doing weird things^^

2025-04-10 19:02:42 +0000 UTCYou can certainly do both. But I think when you watch as much anime as they do, it is hard not to notice how bad the pacing is One Piece compared to other shows. Also, for certain arcs down the line, I think they will have to switch. Dress arc made me almost despise One Piece because of the pacing and overuse of flashback.

Some people only watch 12 - 24 ep anime to avoid fillers as they are usually started after the manga is done. Some prefer to read the manga and some even the LN. Some like long running anime only because they love to get invested in the world and never have it end. It is the best part of anime / manga / LN stories, there is something for everyone and there tends to be drawbacks for each thing, long running anime has the fillers (be it random story or the inflating of a episode), short anime are to the point but you cry when there is no more :D, manga has to be read and you get some of the action but not the animation and LN tends to have 0 drawing (sometimes it has a drawing or two of a character etc) and there is enough of each to fill us up until a natural death and more is being created every day, it is a lovely time to be alive, everyone just got to find what they like the best or a mix to make it more interesting :D

2025-04-09 13:35:28 +0000 UTCThe feeling of it being dragged out is a downside of long running animes in general as well as one of the differences with one piece. Because the longer the anime is there is a higher chance of the anime catching up to the manga and that is what fillers are usually for. The great thing about early one piece is that they made their main episodes shorter by: 1. adding a long "this happened last episode" scene at the start. 2. adding a lot of stare downs / panning, pan to zoro, pan to franky, pan to brook, pan to franky, pan to brook, brook says 1 thing and then do the panning all over again before moving on. 3. adding filler scenes that might be funny or just there to add time. This atleast solves the issue of them having to add fillers mid arc, which is common in other long running shows, in one piece most of the fillers comes between arcs or as a holiday special etc. There are some mid arc fillers but only on the REALLY LONG running arcs. but mainly, anime is most often a adaptation of the manga. 1 ep of the anime could be multiple chapters of the manga, some episodes contains more and some less. Sometimes there is 1 anime ep that contains lets say 2 chapters of the manga, but that is 17min of anime, and the next chapter would add another 6-8min of anime, so they have to some how fill out that 3 min of anime with things that is not from the manga and this is where panning, added scenes, stare downs etc comes in.

2025-04-09 11:47:58 +0000 UTCThe thing about One Piece anime and why it feels dragged at sometimes,is because sadly the anime only adapts 1 chapther per episode sometimes they only adapted half chapther and the problem with that is for them to get the 23 minutes per episode,they fill the episodes with a bunch of reactions shots or they just running for 5 minutes straight when in the manga this doesn't happen

Some portions of it are lame and drag on, that's just the truth from a die hard OP fan, especially compared to the arcs that are before and after it. Only a few more episodes to go before it picks back up. You don't have to complicate it. Just keep trucking along. One Piece arc endings always deliver 💯

This arc isn’t even the WORST in pacing especially compared to other arcs known for being slow. I don’t remember this arc feeling this slow since i breezed through it, but y’all are only doing 4 eps a week which is kinda crazy ngl 😬 My advice is, instead of replacing another anime, add another slot for one piece. You’ll really benefit from this in multiple ways. I don’t want to sound like i’m demanding more one piece out of greediness, I just want y’all to get a better experience watching this story. 👍
