I would say the final 7 or so episodes of Code geass is peak, even to this day for modern anime. We are almost there. Also the AoT comparisons by Michelle are valid. CG was actually b4 AoT and has had a clear influence on the latter via interviews. There is a ton of similarities that cant really be discussed until completion.

She's just a normal school girl who likes Lelouch, then he causes the death of her dad and she gets involved with Mao, memories tampered twice by Lelouch and Emperor Charles, memories back. Which is why Lelouch said in this episode he wants to avoid pulling her into his plans, she's been through enough just because of Lelouch
