Marianne was actually a full blooded Britannian but she was not from nobility. She was a knight and a Knightmare pilot before becoming an imperial consort. Lelouch first assumes that someone in the court killed her (main suspects were his half siblings) because of her low birth status. However as story progresses Lelouch learns that she was actually adored by people around her, mainly Jeremiah and Cornelia.

Chales had the Geass of rewriting memory and V.V had the Code, but in the last episode V.V passed his Code to Charles who now became immortal while V.V died. Also Charles and V.V mentioned that the "God" they talk about is not some bearded magic guy on a cloud, but the collective consciousness of humans. Charles said all people are one, and his plan of "killing God" is basically making everyone to be a part of a collective consciousness where there is no sense of self. This would allow no lies or deception, which is the promise he made with V.V. Which is ironic that people live in a illusion of no lies which itself is a big lie. But it would be a "happy" life of lies. Which is pretty much the theme of Code Geass. Utilitarism vs deontology (Lelouch vs Suzaku), are lies justified for a greater goal? Lelouch says yes, Suzaku says no
