The Geass he cast on Euphemia was not intentional at all. He is giving the answers Suzaku expects instead of the truth. Because if he told the truth it would seem like he was making excuses and fail to gain Suzaku’s trust. But there are some truth in his answers. Although not intentional, he bears the responsibility of Euphemia and Shirley’s deaths. That weight will never disappear. He also used Suzaku’s and council members rescue as a stage.
