Naruto wouldn't have been so outcasted, Gon wouldn't be off in adventures, Goku would know more of the world, etc... that's why when telling a story about a kid or teen, you have to exclude the parents one way or another...

Most dads in anime are really bad father’s especially the MC’s. I will say one of the greatest dads RIP. I won’t say his name, but from full metal alchemist. Burnett glasses. But then you have the other “FATHERS” pun intended in that anime alone that are just not the best or straight up demonic messed up in the head. Thorfinns dad bro honestly made no mistakes. It was not his fault for what took place.
