I think the main reason people dislike the show is because they take the anime canon/filler into account when they didn't do the same for Naruto. Most people hopped in Naruto with a complete journey and didn't go week by week since 2002 no matter what episode was playing. The problem here is you get like 15 episodes and then a year of filler, then 4 episodes into half a year of filler, then finally like 40 episodes into a year + of filler for 7 episodes. Some people like them, and some people don't but the people that don't will speak very loudly

Sadly, there are a handful of arcs throughout the show that aren't technically filler but have no real impact on the over all story. I think that's the main reason people dislike the show so much. Every arc in naruto was impactful, but a few boruto arcs feel kind of unnecessary or empty if that makes sense.

2025-07-11 20:21:43 +0000 UTCThese two episodes are important to the canon, it doesn't seem like it now, but that's what makes the journey fun. They set up backstory for the characters, move the plot in subtle ways, and really show what Boruto's life was like. These moments are what makes the manga and time skip hit harder for me. People were so busy complaining, why Naruto verse got tech, that they didn't pay attention. These new Kage's changed their villages for the better, we should be celebrating Naruto's hard work. Technology was already 90s advanced in OG Naruto, people just didn't pay attention. They had tvs, science labs, movie theaters etc., but our gang didn't have the luxury to truly enjoy life as children due to war. People are upset at Boruto's anime, but this show is everything Itachi, Minato, Obito, Neji, Asuma, and Pain wanted for the next generation. Everything serves a purpose to the greater themes of the story. I don't know why people can't just chill and enjoy the ride. Not everything needs to be a fight to be entertaining.
