My thought process at the end of this episodes was that the Emperor did not want to take the chance of anyone other than Lady Gyoukou having a prince since she is his favorite. I don't know much about this time but I believe that whichever Concubine gives birth to a son is the one to become Emperess and he wants to make sure it is Lad Gyoukou. That is where my mind went when I first saw the ending of this episode.

But Concubine Lihua let her off with the ridiculously light charge of “speaking rudely to her master.” and banning her from the palace forever. Can’t wait for the next episode!! >.<
