Hunter x Hunter - Episode 130-131

Peak x Peak

*subtitles may differ from what Ron and Michelle see. They always watch on Crunchyroll*

Comments

Yes, like that one that says “Killua always walks behind Gon”, which is so demonstrably false it is laughable, yet I’ve heard it said in all seriousness. Even the idea that Killua always follows Gon isn’t true.

Toasted Toad

Of course he didn’t. Pitou surprised him. The only reason he didn’t get more cut off was because Killua saved him.

Toasted Toad

Pirouette wasn’t dead until Gon’s final blow. After that, her body was resurrected so he had to destroy it. Killua only arrived at the end of the fight. He was shocked at what Gon had done to himself to get the power to kill Pitou. And then thought Gon would destroy himself along with Pitou’s body. This trite narrative of “Gon loses his soul, Meruem gains his” is so annoying. It’s just regurgitated by fans who have heard it from other fans as though it’s some deep insight.

Toasted Toad

Do you honestly think Gon would have killed Komugi? He was just making a threat.

Toasted Toad

He’s known Kite for longer. He first encountered him several years ago. Kite was the one who told him about his father and sparked his desire to find him. It’s only because the 2011 anime only shows him this far into the story that gives this misleading impression.

Toasted Toad

People love to talk about Gon being a “monster” in this arc because he was holding Komugi hostage or didn’t give Pitou mercy, but forget Pitou was planning to kill him had he not done that. She says it to herself earlier saying she will have many chances to kill him before they reached Peijing. She never planned to heal Kite at all, she didn’t even give a damn if he was curable or not. She just wanted him to comply with what she wanted before killing him. Because she broke her arms and offered her legs? She could heal herself, she knew it didn’t matter if she broke her limbs.

soa

Man you guys should post this one on youtube tbh. Might pull some more ppl will def get views!

T.J.

Funnily enough, on my first watch, this episode impacted me so much I dropped the series after watching. I just couldn’t fathom how things could go back to “normal” after this 😅 Started back from episode 1 like a year or two later lol…

Angel Coronado

Y'all both leaning as if to see around Pitou so you can see Gon more at 30:52 XD

Riley C.

Even tho i'm a big dragon ball fan, Gons tranformation is my favorite transformation in all anime I think. Such a huge emotional transformation

Wadabadada

Michelle “I wouldn’t watch if Killua died” Ron well I guess Ginger x Ginger

Saith Uchiha

Exactly but ron and Michelle were talking about gon tapping into it again to fight the king

Rja831

What do you mean tap into it again? He sacrificed his lifespan for immediate power. Gon should be dead.

AINOMOA

I think I seen a comment somewhere that said Gon was actually the Darkness within the Light and Killua was the Light within the Darkness. That if their lives were switched Gon would’ve been the Assassin the family wanted from Killua and Killua would’ve been a regular happy kid. I do wonder what they would’ve been like had their roles been reversed. No doubt they both got cold blooded killer instincts but Gon was really able to take it up a notch here. Idk I think there’s many ways to look at it and things to consider but I thought this take on it was very interesting and made sense. Just my 2 cents

Elijah

The last “gon” scream of Killua always hurt my heart, so much pain in that scream

Tomii

AH HELL NA

pakio

Rewatch the show says the guy who just repeated the complete fabrication that Gon cheered when Killua ripped that guy's heart out

HeavenlyR

It’s not much of life or nen sacrifice power up if gon can just tap into it again lol

Rja831

Someone might’ve said this already but that’s the only time in the entire series that we heard killuas footsteps. He cared for his friend so much that nothing mattered except helping his friend

Kos

Or I wish they introduced Kite at the beginning of the show like in 1999 version so we developed more of a connection to him before he died

yoshi

What do you call it when a kid sees another kid rip someone’s heart out and cheer while the rest of the audience is shocked and in fear. Or sacrificing his body and his friends body for his ego in greed island bro is psychotic. Knew kite for a week and was super selfish in the way he acted to his death. You just gotta rewatch the whole show tbh

Evelio Solache

Lmfao did you want a fake over the top reaction they looked hyped and confused which is the appropriate reaction no one understands how gon did why he did and why he looks like that

Evelio Solache

How can it be when they are already watching one piece

Evelio Solache

Yes please

Silly_Billy

I kind of wish they didn’t show Kite dead and dismembered so much earlier in the arc like they did. We as the viewers would’ve felt the shock and disappointment that Gon felt far more sharply. That was actually a huge missed opportunity, now that I think about it… Definitely some peak episodes all the same, though.

Michael H

Nah, man, the way this arc concludes in relation to the king actually made me so sad when I first watched it. I did not expect it at all, and it was really upsetting in a way, but at the same time I was satisfied lolz. At least, it's not a disappointing conclusion, I could accept it.

Phoenix

As sad as I am for Gon, and seeing things from his POV, Killua's just hurts so much more. Having to see what Gon is going through, what we watched... But also, I feel that the pain and suffering for Killua, for me personally at least, is a 100x sadder than the pain and suffering Gon is going through. I can't compare the types of pain, cause they're different, but I feel like Killua witnessing all of this - he's been sad for so long, because he had a hunch about half of this happening, even if he couldn't put it into words, and he's terrified of losing Gon. Added to his guilt and sadness for what happened to Kite, I just feel like crying every time I think about Killua and his relationship with Gon during this arc.

Phoenix

So Gon used the saem tactic as Kurapika. He Restricted his nen to just one person though, and in return, he received his whole potential in one go.

Niraj Modhwadia

Watch ending credits on ep 135

Dajhaya Jones

Shut up

Nick Obeso

no thx

iu

no thx

iu

it will definitely be the peak of this channel

faezarez

PAIN arc and CHIMERA arc at the same time WE EATING GOOD

Jehlani

Y’all they need to watch jojos 😭

Nick Obeso

Opinions differ have your way to choose your own rating. We all have different perspectives. HxH is a great anime but it’s probably #10 on my favorites. Feel free to have your own opinion this is mine. Let’s respect eachothers opinions.

Saith Uchiha

They do watch on crunchyroll. This was downloaded from somewhere else. (mod)

klub

and it’s not 2 or 3

Riley

Will you guys start black clover or bleach after this?

Cold_Cyber

One of the best moments of anime, seen this so many times and i still get hyped, when Gon grabs his severed arm and yells and he impales pitou sends shivers down my spine!! amazing

SirGeel

Pitou is neither a male nor a female togashi said it himself

Wsgyan

Someone tell them to watch the ending credits of 135

kirk poss

Her real name is actually biscuit

Wsgyan

Until the very end, i still never see that baby as a “twin” 😅 even from the very first time i watched HxH.

Cathy

Top 3 best rage moments in anime I don’t care what anyone says.

Saith Uchiha

"He was fully aware he was hurting Killua mentally throughout the entire CAA arc and didn’t care as long as he got his revenge." Weird, there was a narrator for the entire arc describing people's emotions that didn't mention this once. You have to be aware you just made this up and this is pure headcanon right "cheering for Killua after he literally ripped someones heart out when every other normal person there was in shock" Didn't happen, Leorio is in shock and Gon turns around and tells him Killua is from a family of assassins "He is so power hungry that he doesn’t care what happens to anyone else as long as he’s the winner." Just a profound misunderstanding of his character it's genuinely insane

HeavenlyR

This is the saddest power up in anime for me. Can you imagine the aftermath of Gon using everything he has to power up and kill Pitou. He is using Nen which is his life energy. One, he could lose his ability to use Nen forever. Two, it's life energy he is using and he could die. He won't be able to be in that state since he will have no Nen or would be dead. And many have explained, this was like a self contract he made to power up all at once just like how Kurapika made a self contract to power up when he fights the Spiders. I feel sad for Gon and also for Killua watching his friend going through all that.

Phyllis

oh interesting, it's annoying ppl have to jump through hoops to avoid content being taken down (even if they seem like small hoops)

Jay rellim

great reaction to some amazing episodes! edit: also just saw yall watched on crunchyroll so glad you got the good subtitles :D

Jay rellim

Mines full metal alchemist brotherhood, Hunter x Hunter, Gurren Lagann, aot and sum else

Arz.09

48:00 Well ur not that wrong Killua basicly is Pikachu / Gon: Killua cast Thunderbold!!

Boosted Inferno

Funfact Togashi(the Author) loved the idea of killing his maincharacters but nvr bring him to the point too actually do it.

Boosted Inferno

One Piece, Hunter Hunter, Demon Slayer, Naruto and I'm waiting for Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Are my top 5

Firewolf

Im not saying it completely stopped. But its production slowed down significantly for a long time and its a shame because of the incredible potential of the series to compete with the other big ones.

Luis V

the art/animation style for Gon transforming and the whole sequence starting from Killua saving Gon from Pitou (the arm getting cut off and all that). A masterpiece in portraying the heaviness and poetic nature of the entire scene (when they could have just gone with making everything really outlandish and over the top -- which is fun too in some instances, just not for these episodes.)

bb

I remember watching your reaction to HxH AMV and i remember this peak moment and your reactions y’all have come a long ways 👏🏼

Shaide

loser

Sae

What the hell dude, Naruto is 100x times better than this.

Arbulon Rexhepi

Ron's reaction in the end of ep 131 is literally me when I watching it for the first time lol

NAID

Just this episode, as I’ve seen many reaction channels have a tough time uploading this episode because of the music and just overall hype of it, the production company cracks down on this one episode.

Daniel Gonzalez

I don’t know what youtube video you’re talking about, but Gon is still so selfish. If he had attacked Pitou in their first encounter then Killua would have been caught in the crossfire, he NEVER thinks about what Killua feels. He is so power hungry that he doesn’t care what happens to anyone else as long as he’s the winner.

Kilika

I would understand an argument for either being the best tbh. Naruto is a lot longer than hxh, so there's a lot more room for development. It gets pretty crazy. They're both in my top 3 for a reason.

defnotdai

The unselfish thing to do is maybe not manipulate your best friend and making them hate themself lol. He was fully aware he was hurting Killua mentally throughout the entire CAA arc and didn’t care as long as he got his revenge. I think you’re the one who didn’t read the story.

Kilika

It’s the build up, if you only watch clips it’s like you’re only seeing the climax and not the build up, the whole pictures comes through nice, not just the epic fighting scenes.

Daniel Gonzalez

I guess the unselfish thing to do would have been to let Pitou kill him and then when Killua got there he would have also been killed. Only people who think Gon is psychotic are those who didn't pay attention to the story, saw a youtube video calling him a monster and decided to make it their head canon. Pitou is a Chimera ant you need to continue attacking even if you think it appears dead just like Kite said, and the thought that Killua would die to that explosion with full knowledge that it's going to happen is hilarious.

HeavenlyR

This is a judgement free zone, write away mate

Daniel Gonzalez

Sacrificing entire limbs simply for his ego in the greed island arc, cheering for Killua after he literally ripped someones heart out when every other normal person there was in shock, etc. being a kid DOES NOT disregard him from the fact he’s a hypocrite and completely psychotic

Kilika

Not to mention his hypocrite ideologies. Early on saying to Chrollo “how could you kill people who have nothing to do with you” then later on blatantly going against that and was willing to kill Komugi who had no connection to him at all.

Kilika

I feel like the hxh fans put too much expectation on them to react a certain way, thus making it overhyped and sadly falling short of your expectations to when you first saw it. That’s why when we announce do a double or triple drop, the natural human ego says “wait am I suppose to be wowed right now?” Haha it’s psychology.

Daniel Gonzalez

We see signs of this behavior really early on in the story. Togashi is literally a genius for writing Gon this way because nobody would expect him to be a psychotic and selfish person. If repeatedly beating a dead body isn’t psychotic i don’t know what is. Not to mention the he didn’t care about the fact that Killua could have literally died from his final janken and still used it anyway.

Kilika

bros mad they didnt react the way he wanted them to, how did u expect them to react

luquzii

The moment when Togashi show the world that there's levels to this. he set the bar for all the shonen

Fariston

What happened to gon is the same as what kurapika did to capture the troop. Good reaction rice and geegee

Tee

Not even close. lmao Kishimoto wished he can have a quarter of Togashi's brain

Fariston

RorotheShadow

It's a nen contract. Kurapika did the same with his power against the phantom troupe.

bjorken

Make a tier list

André

2 of the greatest eps everrrr

kai

i mean he still would’ve got clapped

kai

Not the reaction I expected from you guys once Gon “transformed”, feels like you guys seen the form.. just saying 🤷‍♂️

John Davalos

Damn yall really just be droppin spoilers in these comments

Chase Canty

This is the first and probably the onoy anime power up that doesn't feel good 🤣🤣

Federico Carnebale

Yeah its kind of a spoiler the double and triple drops 🤣

Federico Carnebale

Gon is my favorite character This episode broke my heart

atoure32

You know ball but nah they should watch it separately

Happy

but they have a schedule and they need to plan ahead, or it will go into dissaray

SirCatelot

Hell nah

Ricky Pham

Actually, it doesn't. Gon was a 12 year old boy with no idea how to handle his grief - his father rejected him, and this connection to his father now killed in a way that destroyed his hopes. And Pitou was about to kill him - it might not have been the only thing on his mind, but this saved his own life. SPOILER And it's not as though Gon remained like this for the rest of this life. He didn't 'lose his soul', as some people like to dramatically say. At most, he had a temporary mental breakdown. He reverted back to the little boy he was, and apologised. Genuinely sorry, not just words to appease people. It's not as though he killed hundreds of innocent people. Just one murderer.

Toasted Toad

That final look at the end when Gon turns back after Killua calls his name gives me chills- it felt like in that final moment Gon finally heard Killua and started tearing because he’s realized what he’s done and felt regret…

Idris A

First, Pitou was really feel sorry for Gon. Pitou can't bring back the dead. Second, Pitou did still able to move because of the Nen After Death, back at the end of York New Arc, Phinks from the Troupe was telling them that Nen can be much more terrifying. And this is the example of how terrified it can be. Third, when Killua jumped to save Gon, that's the only time you can actually his footsteps. It's the only time he forgot everything just to save his only dear friend. And the last, It's broke my heart every time to hear Killua's screaming "Gon!", it literally watching your only most beloved friend committed suicide in front of you and your presence was useless. PS. From this point of the story, you can watch every single episode as a single upload. You can do a double at 134-135 but it wasn't necessary at all, from my perspective who watched the show already countless time. This show is something you should take time to absorb it.

Hisoka Morrow

I always tear up when gon says he gets to be the same as kite

Chris Bogomas

Then watch and compare, at least its finished, shippuden is great

kkloyd

Subtitles were off, but good reaction

Federico Toxqui

Ron's face at the end lmao. But also, can we acknowledge Gon's VA in these two episodes. 131 one of the best episodes of any anime all time, will always remember the words: saisho wa gu...

Killua X

I know bruh I got thoughts nshit 😭

Jake Turner

this episode really shows how much of a psychopath and selfish gon really is

Kilika

damn bro's writing essays

Ron Jackson Jr

Ron looking so upset omg 😭 Are you guys seeing these subtitles the same as us or did you just upload them with the subtitles changed? I've heard that the version most people are familiar with, of Pitou saying "his power is now equal to that of the King," is not a good translation, and the subtitles that you uploaded with are actually closer to the manga. Ron made a good point comparing how Gon looks here and how Ging looks. I hadn't thought about it that way, and I like that interpretation, that this is how Gon would look if he literally like strength trained every single day for decades. I know that this episode was ranked a 9.9 on IMDB until recently becoming a 9.8 for some reason. It may or may not be my favorite of the arc though, not sure. I think this episode is sort of where the character arcs for Gon and Killua are fully realized. Killua was a cold-blooded assassin before meeting Gon and became more of an emotional, selfless friend throughout the series. Gon was an optimistic, naive kid, and developed into this unbound monster. I know it has been rather straightforward since early on that these character progressions were laying out this way, but I think Togashi deserves some props for taking his time with it and letting it cook for 131 episodes. I know you guys are selective about watching intros and outros but DAMN Michelle got that finger on the trigger lol. I've been worried you guys might miss something 😉 I think you'll be fine 😅 maybe 😰

Jake Turner

Gon really let Pitou cut his arm off just to be like Kite😭

Usher

I have never watched Naruto only clips but there is no way it can be better than HxH as a whole no?

Jorginho

If they watch 130 they will know that they cant stop there cause of cliffhanger then they watch 131 and figure out that those 2 are must doubledrop

Jorginho

Pitou was talking about the king before the explosion. She didn’t know the king absorbed Pouf and Youpi in order to survive. Meruem is the strongest character in the show at this point. Gon can’t use that form or nen anymore. He literally sacrifice everything just to kill Pitou.

Bryan

Oh yeah lol didn't even realize he forgot to mention it

Jake Turner

I was gonna ask why they would need to do that if these episodes don't go up onto YouTube, but then I realized they do sometimes upload one-offs of the best episodes. Have the translations been different the entire time or just for this episode?

Jake Turner

This scene, the rage, the music everything was perfection. Gon broke out of his shoes lmao. When Pitou said "his fangs may sink into the king" there's another sub version where instead of that Pitou flat out says Gon's power is equal to the king (Not sure if true or not but that's what was said) The ost went insane during Gon's transformation. One thing that always stuck out to me was Gon still having some self-control to tell Pitou to follow him outside, you would think he'd be out of control and go ape sh*t on Pitou then but he was half sane cause like he said he didn't wanna destroy the building lmao. Legendary episode 10/10, I watched this too many times to count 🔥

Kayso

They seem to be more accurate

Jake Turner

Uhhhh her name is biscuit Krueger man 😂

Contose

how can they know when it's worth a double drop when they haven't watched the anime

SirCatelot

I’m glad you guys are watching this, it was my first anime.

Draken of Toman

Episode 135 is the best from any anime, you must watch it like 134-135.

NOOB

Ron’s face at 42:40 😂😂

Draken of Toman

I think this is the most realistic power up in shonen, besides Haikyuu. Usually in shonen battle, whether it's power battle or sports battle, the MC suddenly just powered up and be able to beat up the opponent out of nowhere. Both Hinata and Gon have incredible talents since the beginning but that didn't make them suddenly stronger at some point. Instead, Hinata had to learn the very basic of volleyball again by being ball boy, and Gon had to throw away his everything to gain this much power, it won't be without any cost, just like Killua said how much did he has to pay for this. I like how these series show the importance of process over talent, and by throwing away the process you could get harmed.

mamimumemo

Ron: You guys are spoiling us with double drop requests! Also Ron: Why didn't you guys make a triple drop request?!? 😂🤣

Damien Lee

Franklin, biskey, wing all foreshadowed gons scary potential. Episode (ally x and x sword) Franklin: “he reminds me of uvo because he wears his emotion on his sleeves and when he’s angry he forgets about all consequences.” Episode (destiny x and tenacity) Wing: “ master I may have awakened an incredible beast” Couldn’t find were bisky talks about gons scary potential but I know forsure she mentions him being a scary beast or something like that. Netero : “you know nothing of the bottomless malice within the human heart”

Andrew Gutierrez

Yall gotta switch back to crunchyroll after this pls subs were uhhh

Happy

And i remember reading somewhere that he did become a specialist given he made a contract and basically the manner in which he got his ability and the conditions around it. It may have been third party discussion, but it made sense despite not being officially stated. So no - i cant prove that part of my statement. It makes sense to me tho. Also, i dont agree with it being an enhancer ability. No other enhancer has ever done that; push their body to develop that much without putting in years of training. It makes sense to be a Specialist's ability, just like Kurapika's chains

The CulturedGentleman

nope the original Japanese said his fangs might even sink to the King, so it doesn't mean he's stronger, just probably will harm the King.

mamimumemo

I said he didnt have to go that far meaning expelling so much energy. He didnt even have to use Jajanken seeing the damage his kick did. A barrage of punches and kicks would be enough to do her in and he would still have enough strength left to fight the others. Rationally speaking.

The CulturedGentleman

thats exactly what i said lol when you requested triple drop just decide it yourselves when its worthy of a double drop :d

Jorginho

Michelle: "That is not Gon!" yep it's not Gon, it's Gon-san 🤣🤣🤣

mamimumemo

"I don't care if this is the end." 🥲🥲🥲

mamimumemo

It’s insane watching this again. Gon turned into a man man lol but geez this was crazy

Bertha

This is a common myth that is wrong

SirCatelot

Everything he had, does have and will have. Everything.

Kee

i died laughter when the subtitle said biscuit instead of bisky 🤣

pipz123

He didn't become a Specialist, he's too far from that affinity. This was purely Enhancer ability.

botanbutton

A little off topic but that's a sick shirt Ron

Marcos cruz

Whatchu mean? It got new chapters last year!

botanbutton

Saddest power up in anime history. Ron was hype but then his expression slowly fell each minute. Happens every time! 😂 But yeah, Gon is insane. He used that power with Killua RIGHT THERE.

botanbutton

Gon went from searching for his daddy to becoming a daddy lol

Alucard

He did not become a specialist lol Also idk how gon would've beaten pitou and the royal guards easily if he didn't make a contract like this

Jay

The manga literally says that Pitou says “As I feared his fangs might even sink into the King” which implies that even the previous version of Meruem was still stronger

Moses T24

Its literally the same as if you give end game Naruto power to his self when he was 10. Yess he would have been strong but he would have known not jutsu than shadow clone which just a lot of chakra and an form he can’t control properly and no fighting experience.

Sam Al

Lol the only thing the sacrifice gave him was his raw nen from his adult body. In his head he is still a child. He don’t know nothing else than is rock thing attack. He would have train his nen, ren, ken, ryu and mastered them. He would have learn other hatsus. The only thing he had now was a stronger body and an tremendous amount of nen but not knowledge and other skills.

Sam Al

Killua is the best friend anyone could ask for honestly. We would all be blessed to have a Killua in our lives

The CulturedGentleman

No in another translation she says, "his power is now equal to that of the king" but the thing is she doesn’t know that the king almost died and evolve because of pouf and youpi. He is now WAY stronger so i think compared to his current level gon would not win but could probably of at least put a good fight against meruem vs netero version of him. Anyways his power is only temporary so it don’t play in his favor

Sam Al

Facts

Liam Powell

They're probably watching official Crunchyroll vids with subs but to keep this from getting taken down, the editor used a fansubbed version. YaBoyRoshi does this all the time depending on the anime.

botanbutton

So Gon basically became a Specialist in that moment, forcing his body to mature to basically his peak, gaining almost endless power. The drawback is that its only a one time use, as he is draining his own life energy to achieve that form. He can never go back into that form, and i believe it will significantly shorten his overall lifespan. Thats why he said "I dont care if this is the end" before doing it. He finally accepted Kite's death, and all his worst fears came to life, causing him to snap. He risked everything here, even his own life. Sad part is, he didnt have to go that far to beat Pitou. Rationally thinking, he could have beat her easily and at the very least wipe out the royal guard and went head to head with Meruem, although at this point the King would most likely still win. With Chapter 7 bankruptcy tho...he possibly at least stood a small chance. The ending of this arc are my favorite episodes of this series. Top 5 in all anime of all time. Cant Wait!!

The CulturedGentleman

They're probably watching official Crunchyroll vids with subs but to keep this from getting taken down, the editor used a fansubbed version. YaBoyRoshi does this all the time depending on the anime.

botanbutton

False, adult form was him reaching a form of decades of limitless training. Chances of him actually reaching that form are extremely unlikely, and therefore he will have to face the consequences for reaching that form in an instant.

Eysu

The drawback is that he can’t use nen again. So he can’t tap back in again

Nelson Hernandez

They're probably watching official Crunchyroll vids with subs but to keep this from getting taken down, the editor used a fansubbed version. YaBoyRoshi does this all the time depending on the anime.

botanbutton

You guys realise he's not gonna have nen anymore right? He aint fighting shit after this lol

Jayden Connor

Ron's expression at the end is exactly what i've being waiting for god knows how long 😂😂😂😂😂

Liraaa

The five stages of grief really hits you in the face in these episodes! (the first 3 stages are being built since kite and Pitou's fight, but these ones are the closure!). A masterpiece in so many levels <3 Also... Nen post-morten is a very powerfull thing. just remember... is the reason the troupe let Gon and Killua go after Kurapika set his nem blade in Chrollo at York new arc, killing nen users with powerfull abilities, usually makes the ability to go overdrive after death (which is what makes pitou become a puppet). Nen = Best power system until now :P

Renan Medina

I feel like one thing about hxh is the author is very passionate about his manga and anime. Every thing is explained and even things that characters think that aren’t said and scene that happen quick but is explained by him while its happening. It gives an different inside of the way we understand the story and characters. I too consider Naruto my fav anime of all time but i would put for me hxh above one piece.

Sam Al

By the way the anime mistranslates Pitous quote about Gon being as strong as Meruem. The direct translation was he "could reach the fangs of the king.” This is far from being equal in strength. Also for Gon to be this powerful he basically made a nen restriction with himself to literally sacrifice all his potential Nen power and most of his life force. That’s why he looks older cause that’s the power he could have achieved if he trained in the future without sacrificing himself. It’s kinda the same thing with Kurapika who made a pact with himself to use chain jail only on Phantom troupes and no one else or else he dies but Gon’s nen restriction is a lot more crazy and self destructive. Keep in mind nen restriction are not easy to make. You have to have a strong emotional connection and a powerful resolve which should help you realize the state of mind Gon and even Kurapika are in to be having these crazy nen restrictions.

Moses T24

I really think that Gons words truly came from the heart of the artist “I dont care if this is the end” . Which is why although HxH has so many passionate fans and such a fantastic story, it never really continued. with many hiatuses and other issues with the continuation of the series. This whole arc has that vibe, and you can see the emotions of the writer in each and every episode.

Luis V

He basically could have been stronger than his adult form years later but he sacrificed his potential to gain immediate power. So yeah to reach that would have take dozen of years but he probably could have been stronger than that. The power is only temporary and the sacrifice was his nen. He basically will not be able to use nen again after the power die off.

Sam Al

Fun fact: this is the first time you hear Killua's footsteps in the entire show. It is a true testament to how much he cares for Gon.

Jimmy

totally agree

José Flete

Typical anime would focus on how anger pushes the main chacter to get a lot of power in a second but HxH chose to present this fight in a tragic way.

tang wc

Where does Vinland saga rank for you Ron?

Tre

Ron the beginning was way too funny, especially the face you made. How are you so damn funny dude. Also, after watching your video about what just like a day to you I always thought you were the hyper one but after Michelle before coffee I was like Michelle is definitely hyper more than you. She was hilariously golden during that.. lol

Saith Uchiha

Just to be clear about a few things. Pitou saying that Gon was as strong as the King meant that he was as physically/aura wise strong as the King before he absorbed the other two royal guards but not that he would necessarily win. With the King's training in strategy it is most likely that it wouldn't be close in the Kings favor. There were a few sections where the translation was a bit strange. The form we saw would be Gon after multiple decades of endless training not just his future self, this would essentially be his peak in terms of physical strength and Aura amount. This isn't a super saiyan-style transformation from Gon, this is essentially a nen contract, a one time deal. Just like the rest of the series, this wasn't a mature decision by Gon, this was another juvenile and selfish conclusion he came to while he was overwhelmed by emotions.

ChocoBoshi

yup, it was poorly translated subs. It's good enough to relay what's happening but it's not good enough to be considered an actual dialog of the characters in the scenes.

Eunoia

But anyways good reaction as always!! I loved Ron’s expressions to certain scenes when his eyes widen or when his right brow raises 🤣

Nick Obeso

yoooo 131 is amazing

jiwon330

So the reason Pitou was relieved is that in order to achieve this power, Gon gave up on his ability to us Nen again. Pitou was happy because Gon used the power on them and not the King, so now Gon can’t challenge the King because the used all of his power and potential power all up against Pitou.

Devron Love

GON IS HIM… LITERALLY 🫥🔥

DRKKN7GHT

No he can’t tap back into it Ron, so the thing is, gon did this by exchanging his talent for nen. This would have been the result if he continues without sacrificing his life energy and talent. Because he can no longer have that talent, he cannot exchange it again to complete this feat twice. He no longer has talent, because as mentioned everyone has nen, but he no longer is capable of using that nen. It’s not a transformation he can just change into. Hope this helps

Nick Obeso

Nah, Humans are way worst than the ants. You can't say kill all humans because humans are trash. Humans are weak and still always come up on top.

Devante Vickers

Tbh, I couldn't help but feel somewhat bad for Pitou. She killed kite, so I understand Gon needing to get his lick back, but at what cost? I feel like if you can empathize with Meruem, you can empathize with Pitou. She was changing too, just like Meruem and Youpi were. She was being genuine about being sorry and not being able to bring back kite btw. But she still had to at least try to protect the king to the very end. I can respect her loyalty more than Pouf's "loyalty". Honestly out of everyone, I feel bad for Killua the most

defnotdai

Where are you watching anime to have subs like that ?!

To To

After 135 hunter hunter will probably compete with demon slayer and Naruto in you’re heart I think

To To

I know everyone loves Killua but my favorite character will always be Gon. His character development is just as good as Killua's imo.

Jimmy

The sub doesn't match

Shaampoi

Gon used a nen contract similar to what Kurapika did with the spiders.

kirk poss

His was the pact for using ALL HES ENERGY LIFE bc he didn’t care wath will happened in the end like kuripika made a the chains pact 🥶

defnotdai

Never ever lie to gon

Tini loves-NOYA❤️ #remsubaru

You'll realize why it's not a triple drop next episode, next episode is not really the continuation of this one so one more episode would have just tired u guys even more without giving more to this scene.

Zerø

My heart breaking sm damn it was so a DAMN THIS ESCALATED QUICKLY mood ❤️‍🩹

I found a comment with good insight into these episodes so I am going to paraphrase some of their ideas here. Gon's resolve here was unbelievable and was only able to be obtained because of his broken mental state. Kurapika's chains were strong because they were intended to be only used for 13 people in the entire world while Gon only had one target, making him unbelievably powerful in that regard. He didn't set a limit on that power. He pretty much gave a blank check and did not care what it costed to obtain that power. Another popular translation is that Gon says "I'll use everything" instead of in this sub where it says "I'll use everything I have." I feel as though the "I'll use everything" is closer to what the consequences resemble, where he sacrificed his nen and his potential to gain power.

Con

Ost theme of kage. That’s the theme for Gons borrowed aura

Geo uchiha

Websites get taken off all the time. I also noticed that + the translation not being exactly the same to most translations out there, but eh who cares if there isn't a better option we'll take it

Zerø

Remember when you guys went to the anime con and mentioned that you saw someone cosplaying Gon with his hair up like that. When I heard that I was like fuckkkk they got spoiled because this is that form that the person was cosplaying but luckily we all have goldfishy brain 🤣

g c

this subs are so bad lol

Eunoia

Naruto is my favorite anime of all time but this is my favorite episode of any anime ever.

kirk poss

Knuckle’s (Rons) dumbfounded expression at the end of the episode captured exactly how I felt the first time watching this. Thanks for the double drop!

Docta CLAW

Gone looks like biscuit

chandler morgan

Gon allowing his arm to be cut off to be just like Kite was, wow. And Pitou just casually fixing her arm in front of Gon was insane when I first watched, the gall 😂 She stayed loyal to the end, I respect that. 10/10 eps for me.
