i didnt enjoy reading this arc as much bc, although interesting, the election dialogue would consume weeks of chapters which made it seem slow. but i enjoyed it way more in the anime

Illumi loves Killua like Bisky said in the ant arc (when gon and killua train too defead shout and nuckles) in a twisted way. Could explain the needle beeing a tool for him too keep his brother save from difficult fight which could result in killuas death. For example right after he removed it he nearly died by the dart fight. But i think Illumi is more crazy and care more for the Zoldycks too be strong (As Killua with most potenzial as the future head of the Familie) rather than care for Killua as a brother himself

Someone correct me. If I remember correctly, the hand gesture Hisoka was showing when asking whether he can kill Killua means "rape". As in, he will rape Killua before killing him. That's why Illumi got triggered so hard. But Hisoka obviously did it to get strong reaction out of Illumi so that Killua knew their whereabouts.

Illumi has always genuinely loved Killua, but as we've been shown time and time again, the Zoldyks ways of expressing their love are questionable, but not flawed to them considering they're a family business of assassins. In Illumi's mind, he's protecting Killua. Killua is the only one that recognizes Alluka as a family member, let alone a human being. So, when the other's say "thing" or "it", just know they're referring to Alluka.

I understand the emotion and everything but Dub won't mess up the translations like it did here, and you won't have to run it back to understand. It would be easier on both of y'all. I'd consider making a poll or something because there is always something messed up in the sub and you guys also sometimes have to rewind to catch some stuff. And in dub you'll understand everything while being able to pay attention to detail. This sub error they did here was horrible. Litterally just said "family".

Illumi loves Killua a lot actually. It’s just an extremely controlling love. When illumi explained alluka’s power to hisoka (if unable to fulfill the her request, at least 2 persons will die being the one not fulfilling request and their most loved one), Hisoka said yeah either way Killua and Gon would die. And illumi was like “eh?” because he thought it would be Killua and himself would die. That’s why hisoka said to illumi “I have problems but you are just as bad”. Illumi really believed there’s the mutual love between Killua and him lol.
