It makes the flashback/callback nature of the anime pacing much more palatable. It does dial back a bit in the future, but any anime that is trying to pace itself behind the manga suffers from it in some capacity.

Fuegoleon was so real for that. βπΎπ Ya'll don't know, it was hard to escape Salt Bae on Japanese tv at the time. π©Even a few of my fave Japanese artists and tv personalities did the pose at least once! Cooking is super important in Japan, I feel more so than anywhere else, so Salt Bae was pretty impactful. It's one meme/viral moment that would actually be understood in Japan despite it being from somewhere else. Also, yes, chocolate, coffee, or caramel are sometimes used in curry roux for a little secret flavor!
