My thoughts were the sympathy route for Choji but I knew he would get through this struggle with the encouragement and words from Asuma, his dad, Shikamaru and Ino. You are not wrong to think that characters like Sakura and Choji should not be fighting because them hesitating could cause an ally to get hurt or die. It is realistic and practical to think that way and that is why sometimes we need both kind of people who are level headed and sympathetic in a team to have a good balance.

I don't think they say who taught the three ino-shika-cho before the current three, but there is a generation gap between the sannin and the current three's parents. Remember, the sannin are much older than the parents because Jiraiya taught the yellow flash, which are the parent's generation, so there is a possibility that the third hokage or someone else from the Sarutobi family taught the parents.

I cried on itachi death but sometimes its just goosebumps danzos death had me in goosbumps and wattery atleast on the rewatch or like emotion in the eye ( it gets a bit wattery) but itachi vs sassuke mannn those ep's 134-138 and the "sorry sasuke this is the last time" 😭🔥🔥 my fav character he is literaly so cool every time in every scene from every angle(atleast to me) like when itachi first came to the leaf when naruto was a kid he literaly came in saying this to kakashi: "im here for the 4th hokages legacy" like boy what? Ron I think you forgot Sakura told us all in the beginning of Naruto during the fight against Haku and Zabuza that Shinobi have codes of law to follow, and emotions are not allowed....but Naruto wanted to show a different Shinobi way because emotions are inevitable especially in this situation. While I understand Ron's train of thought, there's a difference between "being prepared" and "being compassionate". For his cop example, while we want our local police officers to be prepared and well-trained so that they don't freeze up causing tragedies, we also do want them to be compassionate, lest they end up becoming something like Derek Chauvin, or in Naruto's example, Sai before he met Naruto. The same Sai that when given the option to follow his mission or save his fellow shinobi Sakura from falling off a bridge, he chose the former. I think that's an extremely important distinction to make.

Correction, Danzo perceived that Hiruzen made shinobi soft, which is untrue. Some of the strongest generations of ninja were born under his rule. People like to hate on Hiruzen , cause it's easy to call on his decisions after the fact, but he did the best he could. He's a flawed human and even the previous Hokage had their flaws like he did. That's the beauty of Naruto, flawed people trying their best.

NAH im 100% with Ron. Choji been my most hated in this show. I honestly hate people like him. And people say "oh it's him being super kind" but I see it as super selfish. Him chosing to not hurt one person is hurting many more and I can never look at that as being kind. I'd rather hurt that one person and learn to deal with my trauma afterwards, than do nothing to find out my actions hurt many more people. I've seen people like him. Where they was so kind they can't hurt a fly. And watch a dog maul a kid because they was scared of hurting the dog, so they didn't evene attempt to kick the dog off the child or something and that child got crippled. I agree with you Ron, from a story perspective it's good that they show not everyone is objectively a good ninja, like even Naruto always losing his cool, but from a character pov I think this made me like Choji a lot less (not that I really loved him to begin lol) I think it would've been sooo cool if he died in the Sasuke retrieval arc cause he was a freaking badass in that fight. Sidenote: In my opinion Kakashi is the closest thing to the perfect ninja, intelligent, sneaky, able to kill, but now kind thanks to Obito. Even him finishing Kakazu was a demonstration of that.

This is the kind of interaction Kabuto intended to have by leaving their memory and personalities intact for the reanimations. On some it backfired but in cases like this, its nightmare! Btw guys, most people do not think about this but if Ino had the ability to utilize other's abilities while taking their bodies over, it would make the Ino-Shika-Cho formation absolutely broken. Canonically it should work because as we saw with Sasori and the 3rd Kazekage, Chakra resides in the body, not the soul therefore Ino should have been able to copy skills while in mind transfer - maybe after looking at the handsigns etc. There is soo much wasted potential there. Ino and her clan could be one of the most powerful in all of the hidden leaf when u think about it really...

ron you're 100% correct about the earring style. The genin earrings are hoops, given to them from their parents when they enroll in the ninja academy, and when they become full fledged shinobi, the sarutobi clan presents them with a stud which replaces the hoop. They hang onto the hoops for when their children become genin. Also I'm with you. The choji thing is super frustrating, and it's meant to be frustrating. The reason being is that most shinobi have learned to harden their hearts and make tough decisions, but choji has so much love in his heart and it's so on his sleeve that he doesn't have the ability to sort of dim that compassion in him. So the need for his strength to grow was that much more, so that he could do what's necessary without diminishing his compassion. In a way Choji's arc is in a way guiding him towards being like Naruto - if you think about it Naruto's journey has been marked by doing the more difficult thing and deferring to compassion

Always loved Choji's butterfly technique its so badass. Gives me nostalgia from when he fought Jirobo. Ino Shika Cho makes such a great team. I wish they had Ino use flower techniques for example "Explosive Flower" like she uses in the Naruto games, giving her more of an arsenal of jutsu in the series that can do damage, instead of her only having mind transfer. That tradition says nothing about the Sarutobi clansman leading Ino-Shika-Cho. For their parents, it could very well have been the 3rd hokage, even if he was not their team leader.

The thing about the mental side of the shinobi is very fair and I 100% understand what you're saying, but that's actually one of the themes of the show in a way. These are 15/16 year olds fighting a wide-scale ninja war with the entire worlds existence at stake. They've been child soldiers and throughout the history of the verse there's been people like Kakashi and Itachi who have been squad leaders at 12 and 13. The point being, the shinobi world is fucked.

I think the most important thing to remember here is that they are fighting people who are supposed to be dead and there is no way to prepare for that from a psychological stand point because it is not a common thing that happens. Also don't forget Kabuto said that anyone who is sealed away can't be reanimated and idk if y'all remember but a while back this guy named Itachi was fighting his little brother and in the middle of that fight sealed away a guy named Orochimaru (nbd), hence why Kabuto can't bring him back now.

From what I remember, they do have mental/emotional/psychological training for shinobi. Sakura mentioned it way back in like, episode 10~20. It's just as Michelle said, this situation is uniquely crappy and it makes sense for Choji to feel and act how he does. It was the perfect moment for him to become who he truly is, it was just a hard step to take. Not everyone can reach Tanjiro Level Kindness.

I'm probably the only one who's bothered by this, but does anyone else notice the absurdity of Ino saying about an EDO KAKUZU, that "they have to take him down 5 times" because he has 5 hearts? Like, bitch, what? He's already immortal, by courtesy of edo tensei, the 5 hearts don't give him another layer of immortality or anything like that. The only real advantage an Edo Kakuzu with 5 hearts has over an Edo Kakuzu with one heart is that he has all 5 chakra natures.
