So there are a lot of ppl in here telling you that Kaneki's hair turned white from stress. That was a very popular theory for a long time, but it got debunked. The actual reason that Kaneki's hair turned white was because of his extremely high RC cell count. By repeatedly being injured and healing during the torture, Kaneki's body created new RC cell vessels, which increased his RC cell count drastically. This is also why Kaneki was so much stronger when he finally broke free.

I don’t want to spoil anything for you both in case you guys want to read the manga but let’s just say that the manga goes way deeper into Kanou’s experiment and everything Rize in general. From what I remember the anime doesn’t really provide an explanation to the whole thing and they kinda go over it by leaving some small hints in there and references and thats it. I haven’t had the time to rewatch the serie so hopefully somebody can correct me if im wrong. Great reaction as always. 🖤

The anime is pretty censor heavy. For example, the scene where Kaneki had to choose who Jason killed, it was upsetting he just didn't choose the guy when he wanted it but it wasn't 2 couples in the manga but a mother and her baby child which is why Kaneki couldn't choose. Also, I feel like its the censorship thats the reason why the anime falls off course with the manga but im sure everyone here will explain the plot holes.

I watched the anime before i read the manga and what i can say is the worst part of all this is some ploth holes and missing event that can make thing confusing later on but overall its good. Y'all can always read the manga to have insight on those thing but overall the show is good and tell its message.

If you guys aren’t going to read the manga then I recommend you just watch the entire series for Tokyo Ghoul including season 3 onwards. I’m curious to see how you guys interpret the anime and to be honest I think aside from season 2 the rest of the anime is still enjoyable. It’s such a shame the manga was never animated properly because not only is the art style from the manga not given justice through the anime but the story isn’t adapted faithfully either leaving a lot of plot holes and loose ends in the anime. Hopefully a Tokyo Ghoul remake comes out someday and you guys can watch that potentially. Anyways that’s my take.

Yea, a lot of people saying to not watch the anime of Tokyo Ghoul usually don't have the perspective of an anime watcher only. I haven't seen S3 so I can't comment on it. However, for S2 while it does deviate, I still think it's really good. It's like a "what if" scenario. So for them watching the anime alone, it's perfectly fine to watch and they will enjoy it. They could also enjoy S3 depending on how it's done, even if it has a lot of cut content. They can't miss or be disappointed by something they aren't aware of.

Yeah honestly I was one of the ones that recommended not watching this show and just waiting for a remake but if i am being honest, I think you guys will like S2... It deviates from the manga almost completely, but its still an alright watch. The problem lies in the fact that it deviates, and then S3 goes right back into the original story line, it is very jarring and confusing. Then to top it off S3 crams 200+ chapters into 20 some episodes and is one of the worst paced piles of garbage i have ever seen, and thats sad considering Tokyo ghoul Re (the manga s3 is supposed to be adapting) is one of the best manga i have ever read.It skips half the story and just gives the bare bones plot points and events. Its fine to watch, but I wish they would just announce a remake already. Either way you guys are already fully into the show now so there is no point to do polls or anything like that, just watch the rest and come to your own conclusions, we will support whatever you guys think :)

The Kanou stuff is an important plot point that gets explained more later on, The reason people say to stop at season 1 is because from season 2 and onwards it deviates from the manga story and a lot of people wanted the OG story adapted.

Season 2 is pretty good if you don’t care that it doesn’t really follow the manga at all. Highly suggest reading the manga it is amazing! Also season 3 is watchable if you just want to see the end of the story but the manga is just way better.

Seasons 1 & 2 are good on it's own. Personally I watched the whole series because I didn't read the manga, so for me it was still enjoyable despite knowing all the hate the last seasons get. I did it because I was so drawn to the first two seasons that I wanted to find my own closure with Kaneki and the story. I will say though that there is a drastic change after season 2, even as an anime only. I'd say just enjoy season 2 and don't worry about the rest for now, you guys will cross that bridge when you get there ✊🏼
