Every time i see someone hating on dub, i think to myself, "Says everyone." lol they say the same thing. Their opinion though. At least nowadays, dub is becoming more accepted. It still gets hate, but a lot of people love dub. Never thought I'd see the day of this comment section, for example. 90% if everyone loving Naruto dub while there's only a few who prefer the sub. It's just very rare that dub wins a poll period lmao. Even though I would like them to watch the dub, I don't mind them watching the sub. I'm used to reactors watching sub because it's what people mainly prefer when it comes to anime which I understand. I just grew up watching English and love dub. I do watch sub and I do enjoy it here and there. No issue with sub I just prefer dub.

SUb has less than dub but its usually a production thing. I wouldnt say its a dub thing because you have shows ike edgerunners whos original audio was japanese but the dub fit looks like its the original

You are only saying what you are saying because you have watched both but there are a very large group of dub watchers who never have even tried sub and would say that dub is more immersive for them. You have more appreciation for the culture and the medium and its intended impression so your opinion will obviously lean more towards the original being more immersive. i think both you and op are right but for literally just different sides of the same coin. Its jsut that sub is always better transfering emotion as it is made specifically with creator and best possible ppl picked by them. Dub is always has few issues on doing that as it first require a translation to be done (left out context and left out word to fit the same amount of languege word not full talking) and then on top of that it was redubed and rerecorded by dub trying to emulate what sub already did (so you lose a bit more in that) and if they dont try to emulate but do their own its not the same thing and again poits it to sub as more immersive.

You gotta pull yourself out of japanese culture for one second and watch any show thats english every once in awhile. I’ve seen both (and others anime un english) and I still think since I was a kid that english dub un anime just sounds cheap and not immersive at all UNLESS its set in an english country or serves the narrative (like cyberpunk Edgerunner). Your biased if english is your first (or only) language you speak fluently, you are used to the way it sounds. Speaking originally french, I’ce watched naruto in the 3 dub (was only available in random languages on internet at the time) and dub has always been kinda bad « cheap » to me. Even for dbz, one piece and snk (except erwin speech that is kinda good but still below VA and french dub to me, french dub of erwin being bad as well)

Emotions, voices, accent… to me it’s just not working… I guess it depends on where you Cole from, I’ve never seen Anyone say english dub is better and not being from an english country. Must be because it’s your 1st language but to many including idk it just sounds bad like english phonetically (idk if that word exists) just doesn’t fit anime in general whereas it’s great/perfect for live actions productions (not my top 1 voice acting tho)

But bruh Madarra is fucking Goated in both languages, i definitely feel like Dub gets a bad wrap in some shows for no reason.
