It's a light novel it is not portrayed in the original manga. The right time would've been 200 episodes ago when Kakashi backstory was covered. I have 2 major points to make. 1- I feel most of the people voting no have never watched these episodes, a lot of them probably following an online filler guide and not knowing what it consistef of in the first place. This is not to slander these people, but if they don’t know what happens I’m not sure it’s fair to rule it out. 2- this idea that “filler is filler” isn’t necessarily true. The content of these episodes are mostly canon, the episodes themselves just don’t appear in the manga, but that doesn’t mean what happens in them isn’t canon. Most of the light novels have been branded as canon, but mangaka are on a strict schedule, so certain blanks are filled in. Other fillers have characters that don’t exist in the Naruto verse, while this one is mostly composed of very important characters in the verse. I just thought I’d bring this up

If I were to guess why people are voting no, it's because we're in the middle of the final arc. If this were a different scenario where we were finishing up a story arc, say the pain arc for example, I could see people saying yes as that would be the perfect time to take a break to check these episodes out; however, we are not dealing w/ that scenario. Abruptly stopping in the middle of the final half of the war (again, last arc) hurts the momentum and interest not just potentially for R & G, but the viewers as well. What R & G should do is ask us if they should come back to those episodes later after all is said and done. I'm sure fans would be receptive to that proposal.

Because 346 leads very well into the filler of 347 and 348. 347 and 348 is just a 2 episode filler that does not stop the momentum at all. Infact it adds into it. For the fillers from 349 to 361 you can watch it on a later date if you think it will stop the momentum. But you should definitely check it out. Because it is the filler about Michele's husbando. 347 and 348 is the akatsuki filler.

The main issue is the word filler, which in reality is “things that wasn’t in the original release of the manga” but there’s a difference between a made up arc with randos that don’t exist in the Naruto verse, and basically every important character in the verse and how they affected Kakashi’s life.

You have to understand the difference between different fillers. Most fillers are WHOLE SEPERATE ARCS about characters we never see again in the show. This filler includes most of the characters you love and a deeper dive into their backstories with Kakashi as the center of it all.

I suggest you should watch Akatsuki little backstory (eps 347 & 348) and Kakashi's backstory (eps 349-361). Though, they're labeled as fillers but they're considered much of a canon as they definitely solidified certain characters aside from Kakashi that led to the present situation. @Mason - In my opinion, it's not a bad idea but that would be super confusing for them. Imagine following two time lines at the same time while watching both... They have trouble remembering important information so imagine having two separate time periods to remember... If they watch Kakashi's arc, they should just watch it and then go back to the main story to focus on each timeline, separately. It would almost be like watching AOT and Before the Fall (the prequel) both at the same time... Or let's say Boruto and Naruto Shippuden at the same time... That'd be super confusing. I get what you mean though. I suggested them to have triple (or even quadruple) drops so that this mini arc finishes faster. For people who have already read the manga the fillers are okay to watch as they come, but the best way to watch the anime for people who don't know the original canon is to skip it so you enjoy it the way the author intended. If you watch the fillers, things get mixed up in your head. I agree that these fillers are worth watching based on good novels, but not at this point.

At the end of the day it's going to be your choice and you won't be able to keep everyone happy. Seems to currently be split 50/50. Perhaps a middle ground - watch them all off camera and do a review video after the fact? Or record the reactions but don't waste time editing until after. This way you'll keep the impatient ones who want to get back to the main story happy, as well as those who want you to experience the character development before the show ends. What ever you decide, I think watching them for the first time after the show ends is the least impactful.

Let me preface this by saying, I understand that you have a schedule and i respect it. Whatever you guys decide I will support and appreciate you guys and I love yall's reactions to one my most beloved shows. 14 episodes means 3.5 weeks of filler. As much I want to keep watching canon and as someone who has watched Naruto and skipped those episodes my first watch through, those fillers are definitely what i consider a must watch as they do give you context and a deeper understanding of the characters. However, i would definitely recommend doing triple or (preferably) quadruple episode drops to get through it quickly as to avoid major loss of momentum. As a viewer, it's an easier pill to swallow to watch 2-2.5 weeks of filler versus 3-4 weeks.

yall dont realize that when they watch it after major events that are about to come it will be completely useless when you know how important this filler arc is and if you know what happens in cannon. This arc connects to the main story; in my opinion, it has to be watched; otherwise, you are robbing yourself and people who want to see the arc. People wanna see the action and not think about your viewing experience.

I respect polls I really do but if u watch the filler it will ruin your current watching experience. Not to spoil but the fillers have 0% to do with the war. They r flash back fillers completely unrelated to the current story. I understand a lot of people like filler and that’s cool but these fillers r the reason the war arc is so hated in the Naruto community cuz the filler was poorly time and poorly placed and had nothing to do with where the story was going. It completely ruined the momentum the story had built up and it’s y a majority of the community says the story should have ended with pain cuz the war arc was a mess.

They should do it when the episodes comes up it's not that serious to take a small break from the main storyline. Maybe 3 episodes can be done at a time to quicken the pace, but they are must watch episodes. I don't see the appeal to come back later after everything that comes next in the story.

Personally I want to see it. Only of its more than 2 eps per upload, if not I agree y'all should skip. Its going to take like 4 weeks to get back to the main story line, it will break the momentum heavily, as others have said.

I think if you do the fillers you should look into uploading them at a quicker pace. Like 4 episodes at a time or something so it doesn't throw off the usual uploads as much and get back to canon faster. I definitely think you will enjoy watching them for sure though.
