And the new mode of Naruto is about Hashirama's level if not stronger. Sasuke has the eternal mangekyou sharingan too so he's weaker than hasirama but not massively weaker

I think it was Konan that explained it during the flash back of Yahiko's death (the orange haired one), but the red represents all the blood shed in the Hidden Rain from the Ninja Wars using their village as a common battle ground. With the cloud representing the never ending rain in the village.

In his case he is trying to protect the hidden leaf by stopping the reanimation jutsu. Even if he wanted to stop and talk to Sasuke, the genjutsu wouldnt allow it.
