For those, especially in the majority, that are confused or frustrated. A poll is typically a vote with an intent to move towards a particular outcome. In this case, for or against fillers. However, the final decision will always be based on the person(s) who created the poll. Unfortunately we see this a lot, like in the electoral college, where the majority does not always rule. What’s the point of the poll? I know that there are individuals in the majority who may feel like their opinions do not matter. But the fact that there was even a poll to begin with means that they value your opinions. Everyone’s vote was weighted in the final decision. I know it is easy right now to express frustration or to instigate through name calling and crude remarks, from individuals on both sides of the poll, but we all should respect the final decision and being more cordial with one another. Just for clarification, I, too, voted against the fillers.

@Draken, plus if you're paying 5$ a month and only watching 1 or 2 of the shows. So you only get the couple episodes a week and the rest of the anime you don't watch. That's the point is it drags out the anticipation of " I cant wait for them to watch this episode" and you gatta wait even longer for those reactions then to add fillers to them. Wow I didn’t realize how many children were in this community until I saw this comment section. I voted to skip them for now and watch later but I understand wanting to jump right into more of kakashi’s backstory. I think the decision to drop 4 filler episodes at a time was a great compromise. Idk how the conversations with your mods went when looking for a good time to watch the fillers, but there is a giant filler arc coming up that would be the perfect place to take a break from canon and go back to any other fillers you might want to watch.

Let me start by saying I’m fine with the decision they made and it doesn’t bother me at all. That said what u said is just not true. Ron said it himself in their reaction Wednesday that Whichever side won the poll was going to decide what happens. It’s as simple as he posted a poll without telling Michelle and it made Michelle mad cuz she wanted to watch it. So instead of honoring the results of the poll like he himself said they were going to do he chose to make Michelle happy and watch them. Which there is nothing wrong with that and it’s the correct choice cuz ultimately it’s both of their channel and she has every right to make those decisions too. The reason it’s a problem is cuz 1. Don’t put a pull up without talking to her first. All this could have been avoided if Ron asked her before putting the poll up whah she wanted to do. 2. Don’t say in the description of the poll it’s majority rule and that u won’t watch the filler if the majority doesn’t vote to watch it 3. Don’t say live on camera your gonna honor the poll and whatever side wins is gonna decide what happens. I just wanted you guys to see the kakashi bits in the filler. I really think it’s important for his character that you watched beforehand…but whatever you decide to do. There are struggles kakashi faced in the past that affects his outlook on the world now as an adult and those are the bits I personally wanted you to experience because I know u guys appreciate that kind of thing in anime. So while it does not really affect the ongoing war, his choices and reactions to various events to come are impacted by his past. Knowing what he went through would allow u guys to better understand those moments. At the end of the day, I’m ok with whatever you guys decide to do. Three tails filler makes 0 sense in context of Yagura and his position as Mizukage, didn't need filler to understand how sad Asuma's passing was, his filler arc was dog water. No filler added anything to the series outside of utakata because the rest are NEVER mentioned ever again. It's a waste of time with horrible animation. For extra content anime have things called OVA's which is what Kakashi and Itachi should've gotten instead of inserting it in the worst spots possible in the series. Straight up 90% of naruto fans hated watching the war arc. The final stretch of the war arc is absolutely unbearable and the fact you're supporting any of this nonsense is ridiculous. The fillers were all bad, light novels were ok but useless when they're portrayed in the series as we don't learn anything new about the characters whatsoever. Just a horrible director for the show

The filler tried it's best to carry the show while the fans patiently waited for the anime to finish. While some fillers were utterly pointless and served to extend the anime as long as possible, others were thought out and served to round out parts of the manga that Kishimoto forgot to include because of time restraints and his superiors telling him he needed to conclude the series. Some that come to my mind were giving Asuma an arc because we had no real relationship with him, giving an arc to the three tails, giving the six tails an arc, the extended backstory of the rain orphans, the 7 swordsmen vs Guy, Kakashi, Sai and Omoi filler episodes. Kakashi's and Yamato's backstories and the backstory of "The big guy." In my opinion these were things Kishimoto should've done but didn't have time to explore and I love having a more in detail look at it in anime form. Hell if they had given us a filler about Danzo's team as chunin I'd be fully invested in that because I love the world of Naruto not just bits and parts that are epic for a few seconds.

If I'm not mistaken, Kishimoto didn't write the novels, his name is on the cover because of his drawings. So technically, it's not his. Only the manga is from him (from my understanding). The thing is "canon" has different levels, and regarding Naruto, there's "manga canon", "animé canon", and "novel canon" (and well, "fillers"). Surprisingly, people accept anything that is "manga canon" and "novel canon", although the novels were not written by the author (people say they were approved by the author but he never said nor wrote anything regarding that so, fake news it is) and yet, "animé canon" is not "accepted". I disagree with that. Also, people need to understand that an adaptation isn't supposed to be an exact copy of an original work. If people want the exact same story as in the manga, well, then read the manga. An adaptation, no matter the medium, will always add things and take out things from the original material. It doesn't mean that it's a bad thing or should be disregarded. When you watch the Harry Potter movies, there are things that were left out and added, yet, it's okay, they are still fun and great movies. The same thing happened with The Lord of the Rings movies : some things were left out and others were added, and that's fine. Yet, when it comes to animé, anything added or left out is seen like a sin or something. My take is as long as what's added is logical, fun to watch and brings something interesting to the story (like a backstory) and filling up holes from the original material, then that's fine. For example, I'm not against the Levi's backstory OVA that the animé studio created, although Isayama Hajime never wrote it. It's filler, and yet I think it's great and fun to watch and fills up some plot or story hole about Levi that made sense to me. I feel the same way about Kakashi's Arc : the placement isn't the most ideal in itself but it is the most ideal considering the moment in the arc it comes into. It brings new information about important characters that fills up holes from the main story (I know that there's one inconsistency about it but that's okay). I would add to that idea by saying that that's the beauty of any type of adaptation : the changes that are made from one medium to the other. When you watch an animé and then read the manga, it's so interesting to see everything that was changed or added or left out. In my opinion, at least. With that being said, they are going to go with the poll results (at least from what they said previously) and that's fine, I understand their decision and will continue watching the show with them. :)

Naruto shippuden is a bad anime adaptation. The war arc has filler in the most random places, in the middle of a war we get tenten filler, itachi filler, Kakashi filler, Hinata filler, Naruto alt universe filler in the dead center of a fight. I hope fans realize this isn't how kishimoto wrote the story regardless and whatever choice they make the fact watching this series as it aired was the worst fan experience of all time back 10 years or so ago 😂

I will admit it is "good filler" , but my main thing is that it's still just filler. It's not from Kishimoto, Kishimoto has made novelette things since the completion of Naruto, that included back stories for some of the characters touched in these fillers, and the filler IS NOT FROM THAT. (so complete , TV Tokyo staff writer, filler) So though I agree it's good filler, and should be watched..... in the moment as someone who watched this series week to week as it came out, this filler frustrated me so much.... such a kill to the momentum of the war arc, and an excuse to have another throwaway "remember this is what happened before all that filler we made you watch" series of scenes that also ruin the momentum of the anime. I believe Anime writers are capable of doing good filler, and when peppered into an otherwise canon episode, stands to amplify the story (i can reference these when you're done the series, but there are some GREAT tiny bits of filler to come that are just sprinkled throughout), but when you have full, multi-week filler in the middle of a climax build, it ruins everything, and at the end of the day it was not inclusive of the original authors vision.
