And considering the poll results were almost 50/50, they decided to watch it. They aren't robotic reactors they also have their own feelings on the matter. Real Naruto fans are there for the whole journey and seeing Ron and Michelle through it, not just speedrunning to the ending of it.

I loved season 1, watched season 2 with you guys, and wanted to see what all the hate was about for 3+4. And as someone who didn’t read the manga and went in unbiased, it was not good.

If you stop now or maybe after finishing the whole anime, Gigguk made a comparison video of the manga vs the anime (he read the manga after the anime was finished for years). It's called "Tokyo Ghoul deserved better". You could check that out (maybe react to it?) because he explains the differences well. Just a warning, there are some spoilery images of TG:re in it too, but I think it's fine because they are not really long on the screen (anyone who saw the video that disagrees?). Regardless if you'll finish the anime or not, you guys should definitely also try the manga. It's obvious that both of you are really immersed into the concept of Tokyo Ghoul and let's be honest, reading the manga would essentially be kind of a new story for you anyway. I mean the manga is a Seinen (like Vinland Saga, Beserk, Vagabond, etc.), so it is in general more mature and also way more psychological than the anime as well. Keep in mind to start with the first chapter to experience the original story fully.

Kaneki was suffering and becoming the thing he didn't want to be to protect the ones he loved but his trauma was eating him since he was a child and his mom died. Hide being him knew Kaneki more than anyone and kaneki considered hide to be his peace and his very best friend. Kaneki simply gave up at the end and decided to die and go ''home'' with hide and that why Yomo stopped Touka from following him. He did his final walk and he was more human than ever due to the metaphore of his hair turning black. Now to know the fate of Kaneki season 3 it is.

Since you know how the caring black Hair kaneki was before He Had His rize Scene with Jason and got White. So that basically showed His humanity and kindness coming through. The color Change didnt Happen in real tho, it was a symbolistic way of showing it. Thats why touka was smiling when kaneki walked past her as yomu blocked her. She saw His Hair symbolically turning black again (His old self)

I'm not a manga reader and I watched all 4 seasons and I personally have to say that I didn't find anything confusing. Everything that was shown made some sort of sense to me. I really don't remember anything, which I found very confusing. The only thing ever I actually looked up on the internet was the different types of Kagune. So give them both the chance to decide for themselves whether they find it confusing or not, and whether they think seasons 3 and 4 are good or bad. Sometimes I really get the feeling that some people here in the comments really want to impose their own opinion on the two of them instead of letting them decide for themselves

This last episode is pretty much the peak animation quality you're gonna get from tokyo ghoul anime.

Now, I realize how much more detailed the manga is, including the fillers. But for someone who doesn't know the full story, they'll still enjoy it and have a great time watching. It's like any adaptation of a book or story into a film—you go in with certain expectations, and when certain things are left out, it's natural to feel a certain way about it.

If people had not mentioned the differences between the anime & manga you wouldn't have second guessed it as it seems you enjoyed both s1 and s2. 2024-08-21 03:04:31 +0000 UTCIm not a reactor or anything but I do understand a bit of Japanese. Just watching a show with Japanese audio and English subtitles isnt that bad. When a difficult word in Japanese is used that I dont know, I get to read the subtitles and know what they said. And for long sentences which get split up in the subtitles between different screens, its easier to listen to the audio and get the whole sentence at once than read half a sentence, keep the context in my head alive while watching some crazy shit happen on screen, and read the second half of the sentence in a few seconds :p I am a fairly quick reader though and I am bilingual and watch movies in my mother tongue with english subtitles too so maybe thats a factor. But watching something with someone who isnt familiar with the language, and having to be aware of a camera on you, thats a whole nother ball game :p

I personally have never seen S3 i just read the manga after s2. I’m all for the viewers so by you watching it, it won’t bother me at least others will enjoy your reaction so go for it :)
