1. visually if you think anything other than the carpaccio looked the best especially somas dish, you are out of your mind. 2. Hayamas dish represented his ability to manipulate spices (whereas most people thought he was just just good at creating dishes with huge spice bombs thats why everyone was so shocked when he only used all spice) He isn't just a one trick pony he is a complete chef with complete mastery over spice and fragrance, that is what this dish represents and that is why he won. Ryo tried to one up him with a fragrance bomb rather than creating something only he could make, and Soma pulled out his liquid over rice trick again to compensate for his lack skill in ingredient quality and fine dining acumen. Hayama was easily the most complete chef at the autumn elections. Ive actually watched an executive chef react to this final and he accurately predicted hayama would win the moment he saw his dish stating it was the most perfect dish you could make out of inseason saury. So if thats your reason for dropping the show I kinda feel bad lol.

Hayama serves raw fish with brushed-on "common Japanese sauce" that becomes lightly seared along with all-spice. I truly believe his dish represented HIM and his journey the least of the 3, would likely taste the worst of the 3 and finally looked the 2nd best of the 3. (The bagged food from ryo looked slightly worse presentation wise) I also think that I can forgive anime-over-the-top-ness a lot of the time, but no real human chef cares about the quality of the meat/food to THIS extent. What I mean is the fish Soma picked and Ryo in their sashimi-off at the market would be virtually the same... Great show, but I dropped it here when it was airing, hoping that moving forward we see much better cook off results. I don't need Soma to win, I'd have been fine with Ryo winning, but Hayama's dish here is raw fish for crying out loud :skull:
