Tatsumi (MC guy) has same VA as Chigiri from Blue Lock (red haired superfast guy a.k.a. red panther xD), Aizetsu from demon slayer (one of the Upper Moon Four's forms/clones representing Sorrow), Yamaguchi from Haikyuu. Not Tanjiro's VA though :p But Tatsumi's VA is Souma Saitou and one of the VAs for Tanjirou (the female VA) is Satomi Satou. The names are were similar but not the same person :p

The Opening song 1 features the assassin group people you just saw and some other future characters. If you count that as spoilers, then don't watch it. Watch OP1 when you watch Episode 14. Opening song 2 starts at Episode 15. More new characters in the opening. Same thing, don't watch if you think it counts a spoiler. Watch OP2 when you watch the last episode. Both Opening are bangers. Oh man, the opening song and first episode is bringing so much memories of this show when I first watched when it aired. It was so good, dark and sad. Can't believe it has been 10 years.

There will never be a season 2, since the ending is almost the same as in the manga. But the last part of the anime is made-up, since the manga was far from finished at the time. btw Akame "Home girl"'s VA is the same as Touka from Tokyo Ghoul, it was her two first big roles. She is also the one who sings the intro.

If you want a couple of shows that are kind of similar and dark. Claymore and Blood+ both fit that criteria. Though the Claymore anime doesn't finish the story it is still a great watch as a stand alone if you don't continue with the manga. Claymore is about a group of female warriors fighting yoma (demons) and Blood+ is about a girl fighting vampire like monsters.

Really wish it lasted more than a season! And one of my very first animes that I watched that only lasted one season. The anime finished first while the manga was on hiatus but continued with an arc and a true ending(manga) when it resumed eventually.
