They really cooked on this and the 3rd one. I remember now. This was a horrible cliffhanger but they made the sequels at the same time and released the 3rd movie like 6 months or something after this one so people didn't have to wait a normal time like 2-3 years.

Yes and another thing. All the Neo's in the monitors are supposed to represent all his reincarnations or something like that? Or all his possible calculated reactions to that conversation...but its this current one that says the right things and actually succeeds from the choices he made. Thats why hes the one :)

Persephone in Greek Mythology is the wife of HADES, ruler of the underworld. I think she betrayed her people or someone to be with Hades to rule in Hell, hence why she, having that name, betrays her husband here in this movie.

That's only a theory and doesn't make a lot of sense. The oracle explains what happens. But basically he got this ability after interacting with The Source. There is more evidence to back this up than the Real World being part of the Matrix.

Yes there is an anime for the Matrix called the Animatrix which consists of 9 short stories that covers the history and lore of the Matrix. One of the stories, Final Flight of the Osiris, was shown, in theaters, right before the Matrix Reloaded since the story takes place right before the movie. It was great seeing Jada in this role considering her husband, Will, turned down the role of Neo. The Burly Brawl, Neo vs multiple Smiths, consisted of Hugo Weaving and 12 stuntmen and martial artists that were all dressed as Smith and even wore wigs with the same receding hairline. By the end of the Burly Brawl, there were almost 200 Smiths. Most of the choreography was learned on day of the filming so kudos to Keanu, Hugo and the stuntmen for adapting to methodology traditionally used in Hong Kong films. Lastly, RIP to Aaliyah and Gloria Foster whose roles had to be recasted during to their passing.

There was foreshadowing with the Merovingian. The French dude. Remember when he briefly lectured Neo after all his goons got their asses kicked? He said "I have survived your predecessors, and I will survive you". That was referring to the previous 5 Neo or Neo equivalents before him, the 6th one currently in the film.
