Sorry to say the fact: Sub and Dub both are really good. BUT I prefer sub because I love the Japanese VA and they are the original and best VAs in the world for voicing japanese anime. And the majority of people who says that dub is better is because they dont understand japanese by hearing, which is the reason a solid and good dub feels better because they understand english better. I watched both and I still prefer sub over dub, its sometimes not hard to see the image because you have to read yes, but the emotions in the original Jp VA is just another league. My opinion.

Please watch sub, Side note:i watched this sub and i would like to say that dub does have good reputation on this but for how long is it as good is what i wanna know (i who havent watched dub) ik it likely has very good moments but from the instanced i heared that compared small clips from both i enjoyed the sub one more for example to anyone who watched this already in sub i have a question (slight spoiler warning but im too smart to spoil anyway so u can prolly read it anyway) so for example a sub moment that is better and to me is crucial moment in the story is when (ok now really spoiler alert) . . . . . yup, same boat im in. I have to skip a lot of reactions simply cause it requires my full attention to know what scene theyre on. If im trying to multitask I have to keep rewinding and its a hassle. Even as someone who primarily watches anime subbed there are a few that have great dubbed versions, Death note and FMAB noteably.

@botanbutton Nah, Prison School is way funnier in English, in my opinion. Not even a contest. They are just able to use slang waaay better when dubbed in some comedies. Plus, the nerdy voice of the one kid in dub fits his character way more.

it's not that people are "hurt" it's that there are like 5 anime that have incredible dubbed audio. using the justification "we watched cyberpunk in 'dub' " doesn't even make sense because the OVA is english, it's not "dubbed". The fact is this will be the third of basically the 5 anime that have the greatest dubs of all time, and because people will religiously vote sub even if they're not going to watch the reaction, dub will never ever win a poll, and if the polls dictate everything, the channel is never going to get a dub reaction experience. Also I don't believe 35% of the audience being Japanese matters literally at all. They're watching english reactors. They understand English. If that 35% is important enough to override the 65% of native english speakers, then they have an obligation to learn japanese and start reacting in that language

Of course, it's up to you guys. I will watch either way, and both are fine, but I would prefer the Dub. Only so that I can understand what's being said without having to read the subtitles. I feel that's a much more enjoyable experience. My one gripe with anime is that it requires full attention, because of the language barrier. I can't multitask while watching anime. And as an adult who has a lot to do and does not have a lot of free time, that's not always possible. But in Dub I can watch your reactions and do something else at the same time. That's my only argument for Dub, the practicality of it. And the nostalgia too I guess. I've seen both, but the English VA's have stuck with me the most.

Ran home during 6th and 7th grade when I lived in Mississippi with my dad to watch Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, Reboot, Rounin Warriors, etc. Made sure to record DBZ cause my dad NEEDED to watch it when he got off work. Stayed up late to watch Midnight Run during 8th grade-12th grade to catch YYH, Inu Yasha, Cowboy Bebop, etc. I just like to call out & disparage my fellow Americans cause I know we are annoying af and very centric when it comes to our experiences. Who cares if Ron & Michelle are American like us? We can't force our experiences from childhood on them just because we're American, it's nostalgic, and feels good. It is PREFERENCE. Just like sub watchers finding Naruto's dub voice "annoying", that's a subjective opinion on a character's voice, and they have a preference for the Japanese one. Just like dub watchers find Goku's sub voice "annoying", it's a subjective opinion on the character voice and they prefer the English voice. ART is SUBJECTIVE (unless it is something that majority of people can agree on). Like, I PREFER the English dub for FMAB!....I think it suits the setting of the story. But it didn't win the poll, so it's no water off this duck's back. Because I can enjoy and understand the Japanese voice cast with them. Being used to one over the other is definitely real, but give it a go. When I went back to Inuyasha after seeing it in dub on CN way back as a kid, I tried sub. Took a bit to get used to, but by the time the monk came in I was perfectly happy enjoying it. I still can't watch the sub for Baccano! Because I first caught the dub and the setting just doesn't make any sense in Japanese, even with the lower quality of the dub versus the sub

But the dubs are never truly equally good. The sound never feels right, and it's an even worse quality difference in specifically older shows. In addition, the translations don't always match length, Japanese and English are very different, so you end up with like 2 syllables of English that lack the context queues the same 2 syllables had in Japanese, or vice versa. Not an issue for sub, as you can just slap the full meaning into the subtitles.

I watched it subbed because I didn't know any better, but the jp va (or maybe just voice direction?) for Edward was just such a huge miss. He sounds like the most generic Shonen MC of all time and sounds so much younger/less mature than someone in his position should. The other characters are mostly fine, but the MC sounds so out of character that it can be distracting.

As a sub watcher I have to agree. Ik awhile back they talked in a video about watching the show in DUB. So if I was a die hard dub fan I’d definitely be upset too. Not to mention as a sub watcher I can agree FMAB is definitely better and funnier in dub. I’ve watched dozens of reactors and all of them preferred and watched FMAB in dub. Not all or most but some anime’s are just better and funnier in dub. At the end of the day you can’t please everybody and goin into a job like this you have to accept that fact. I feel it wouldn’t hurt to watch dub versions of recommended shows in dub. Anime fans are split most of the time dub or sub. Your fan base is gonna be consisted of dub/sub fans. So if your only gonna only watch things in sub everytime your obviously gonna have a lot of upset people🤷🏽. Basically I’m sayin it wouldn’t hurt to throw die hard dub fans a bone once and awhile on highly recommended shows and when it was originally talked about bein watched in dub. Absolutely false. English is the universal language. Over 1.5 billion people speak in and over 450 million people have it as a 2nd language. It’s big reasons too are for trade, politics, businesses, science and so on and so on. English is typically taught in majority of schools outside the states such as in certain schools in the states have Spanish as a requirement of atleast 1 year to take in HS. Hell ik an elementary school where the kids take Spanish and have to say everything in Spanish while in tha class. Their are without a doubt shows and or movies tha are better/funnier in dub. I prefer sub for original reasons and MOST of the time atleast to me its sounds better. But I have to admit some shows are funnier and better in dub such as Naruto and FMAB or even Kaiju NO 8 that’s funnier in dub. AOT can go both ways. I just don’t understand why people get so hurt from other people enjoying the show in the original format. It feels like the dub people are more unhinged here as the loud minority. Dub and sub are both good, and people saying the sub is trash most likely hasn’t seen it in sub or have after the dub and just can’t get used to it. The sub has an all-star cast and people act like the most talented japanese voice actors just collectively fumbled suddenly for this show only. The majority voted for sub, Ron wants to experience in the intended language, Michelle has seen dub and wants a fresh way to watch it and 35% of the audience is japanese who prefer sub, there is no convincing reason to watch it dubbed aside from people in the comments acting like crybullies calling other elitists and threatening with cancelling subscription. I have 1 anime I refuse to watch in sub... inuyasha.. when I ran out of dub episodes to watch I tried a sub episode and I just turned it off and waited for more dub to come out. Fma brotherhood is at least good in both, even if I prefer dub for this one

This show is a good example of one that is in fact great in both Dub and Sub, IMO the more back in time you go with Anime shows the better Dubs were which honestly is very strange because you would think these voice actors would've progressed but IMO they did not (most of the time) but anything from the 80s or 90s and some early 2000s were pretty great in Dub. I only watch things like YuYu Hakusho, Cowboy Bepop, Trigun, and so on in Dub. but anything new in the past decade i only watch Sub.

My initial comment mentions myself and Ron/Michelle because like them, this would be my first time seeing it. This has nothing to do with English dub watchers u mentioned. Dub is better. OBJECTIVELY it is better. Proof of that is what is determined by the vast majority of people who consume the Anime genre and have an appreciation for BOTH subbed and dubbed anime. BOTH. My message said I've never watched the show in English, so I can't say I like it or not. In fact, I don't watch any show in English, it's not my main language. However, I did not like any of the popular scenes that I did watch in English. I've watched FMAB in both Sub and Dub. I don't mind the Sub, don't dislike it, but I have always preferred the Dub for this anime over the Sub. Regardless I will enjoy the reaction because I am here for their reaction. The problem with a show like this is everyone probs saw this when they were young and it was on tv in English. Obvs once you’re accustomed to certain voices representing certain characters that’s what you prefer because different voices would sound wrong to u. As someone who isn’t a die hard sub or dub extremist and someone who has watched at least 10-20 episodes in both languages for me the Japanese version sounded way better to me and is what I decided to finish the show in. Obvs that’s just my opinion but I feel like I came from a pretty non bias standpoint.

If that's the issue...you can have subtitles on a dubbed audio... they're not mutually exclusive. Also this is about R&M reaction, they're not having these language issues by listening to their native language. I'd rather them take in the full humor and contexts in a way they would most enjoy and understand. Bummed we won't get the dubbed but also with you on not "whining" about. I will say what makes sense to me though.

Dub is just better for reaction overall. When u watch in sub ur sometimes more focused on reading than whats actually happening on the screen which is less convinient + u can miss out on things + its less enjoyable etc. So imo if the dub is decent go for it.

This first episode is actually a filler. It never happened in the manga (or it just wasn't shown). When Brotherhood came out I think they assumed that most people already saw the 2003 version. That's why in the next episodes you will have the impression that the characters are re-introduced as if we don't know them already lol. That's when they were introduced in the manga.

In my opinion, ONE of the thingS that makes people enjoy the dub more is comedy. In comedy, the delivery is key and when you read subs, it just doesn't feel the same than actually hearing someone delivering the punchline. For me that's why people often seem to think that the dub is funnier.

Now to answer Ron's question. The "electric" animation is the animation for alchemy. King Bradley is the Fuhrer, Commander-in-Chief of the State Military. King is his First name, Bradley is his Last name. Edward and Alphonse are trying to get Al's body and Ed's arm and leg as you can see from the animation. There are State Alchemists in the Military.

Japanese anime is originally from Japan so it's normal to watch it in Japanese and English subbed. I get some English audience have watched it in English dubbed and felt that it is way better than the subbed. I agree the FMAB English dubbed is good too but everyone has their preferences. Many people should just stop with the bashing saying "subbed elitist" shit. I voted subbed cause I preferred to watch in subbed. I don't mind if they watch either of them. It's their choice after looking at the poll results and deciding for themselves. I too would suggest them giving it a try to watch in dubbed to see which they would prefer. Since Michelle has watched it in dubbed, let her watch in subbed isn't a bad idea either.

I'm sure it's already been said by someone, but the beginning of FMAB is very fast paced compared to FMA. Since they were essentially re-doing a lot of the same arcs that (at the time of release) had already been done in FMA, the pacing can feel kinda off to someone watching for the first time

I used to love YYH in English too but then I learned Japanese and realized how their portrayal in English is far too different from the Japanese performances and script. Especially Yusuke and Hiei. tbh i'd prefer dub any day, so much more convenient to not have to read the subtitles particularly when i'm doing something else at the same time or if the video quality goes down so i can't see the words. Just being able to do something else while watching is such a big deal that it should outweigh any flaws with dub but it could be i'm the only one who wants to play a game, fold laundry, or wash the dishes while watching.

Yes you all you stated. Imo Yu Yu hakusho is the top. It's more than just the dub acting being good, the banter and trash talk are so important to make the characters endearing and loveable and if you're an English speaker, the humor and trash talk just loses so much in a subtle translation.

The dub is done well for sure, but when in doubt, just always go with the original language. It’s always better because with dubs, no matter how good it is, there’s always going to be some parts that just don’t translate over too well.

Yeah the dub for this is too good. The sub is alright but the dub is perfect. I'm normally a sub watcher in everything but the problem with polls like the one you guys did is that sub elitists will vote sub even if they've never seen the show and will not watch it when you post it regardless. Another reactor I watch had that issue with Fairy Tail, so he asked in the video for people to comment what he should watch and Dub won by a landslide in that case.
