This was more to have the origin of Yamato and Kakashi’s relationship and his name as “Tenzo” than it was about the girl. Not every character has to have relevance to the overall story because they had screen time. Think of her like the kid from the bridge building arc.

Hate commenting late because I know most won’t see this. But realistically the only logical thing would be for her to go her own separate way. She isn’t a leaf citizen and Tenzo is in the FOUNDATION. Again, this is canon in anime my guy. This are stories that actually happened that weren't in manga, some are in light novels. Something about kishimoto is that he really loved his work and the depth in it, he loved story telling which is what naruto is. There are so many stories that he just never had the chance to do, because the company was making rush to finish naruto so they could start the new anime they had in the works. Kishimoto wanted to continue naruto but he wasn't allowed so he created kaguya to defead jubidara and then get sealed and pum finished. He managed to get in some night novles which is the shikamaru one but that's about it. Tbh a naruto named naruto the last as a series would have been amazing, with ne concepts, them exploring more ans finding out more ninja villages, nations who actually are powerfully af, finding out kaguya also explored around that area and left chakra fruit seeds and people were eating them and becoming op with ninnutsu and stuff

Yes, Orochimaru experimenting and kidnapping is canon. I am more referring to the whole encounter between kakashi and orochimaru. I do agree that these fillers flesh out the gaps in the story though, I just view it as a "possible scenario" of how these things played out. (EX: When Kakashi was sealing Sasuke's curse mark and encountered Orochimaru, its obvious they had a past. Ofcourse Kakashi would know who Orochimaru was at this point. This filler fleshes out the gap on a POSSIBLE scenario of their past together but it isn't canon.) (EX: When we first see Kakashi and Yamato meet whenever Kakashi is in the hospital and Yamato is leading Team 7, they are talking together because they have a past. Yamato served under Kakashi in the ANBU and his codename was Tenzo. This filler also fleshes that gap out by giving it a story but it isn't canon.) By no means am I saying this filler arc is bad, I actually enjoyed it. This is just how I interpret it I guess lol.

You guys said it was surprising Kakashi and Orochimaru had such encounters in the past. You probably don't remember but way back in the chuunin exam arc when sasuke was struggling with his cursed seal, Kakashi was watching over him when Orochimaru appeared to creep on Sasuke. Kakashi pulled out a chidori and they had a short convo which suggested they knew each other from the past, and it ended with Orochimaru laughing at Kakashi getting ready to fight, and Orochimaru just bounced, after which Kakashi was relieved because he was frozen stiff in the encounter and just bluffed being ready to scrap, similar to their encounter here in the backstory

I think you seem to forget that the girl and her clan are filler characters and therefore do not exist in the real story. 😅 So she will no longer appear or be a thing again after these fillers. Also, Yamato is not really her brother. He just looks a lot like him. And since she obviously misses her little brother so much, she wants to believe that Yamato is him. And since Yamato remembers the little girl, who was also a test subject like him and died, he gets the feeling of being needed by someone again and therefore thinks for a while that he is Tenzo (or rather, he wants to believe it too, even though he knows he isn't him). And since it was also mentioned in episode 351 by the Third Hokage that Yamato was most likely kidnapped as a newborn, and this Tenzo went with Orochimaru only three years ago, Yamato cannot be her little brother in terms of time. And I think one of the canon things in these fillers is the name Tenzo. I mean, we've heard Kakashi calling Yamato Tenzo sometimes, and then Yamato always says that he should stop calling him that. I would imagine that the name "Tenzo" is canon, but the backstory of why Kakashi calls Yamato that is a mystery and the animation studio just made up a little story for it. 🤷🏻‍♀🤷🏻‍♀

Facts, Naruto manga didn’t coincidentally end at 700 chapters, that’s just when Kishimoto wanted to be done with it. There’s alot of things that didn’t happen in the manga that the anime fleshes out, and there’s also things that just didn’t fit in the story so it wouldn’t be dragged out and Kishimoto wouldn’t lose his ability to draw. These episodes fleshes out those ideas that were cut in editing processes.

A lot of people write this filler off, but it actually has quite a few canon elements and gives an idea of what kind of experiments Orochimaru was running. The raid on Orochimaru's hideout at 21:50 is canon, but they censored it in the anime. In the manga, there were dozens of people chained all around the walls with various wounds and several bodies littered across the ground that Orochimaru had been experimenting on in order to attain immortality. It's canon that he kidnapped chunins, genins, and anbu agents for these experiments For the experiments with wood style, it's confirmed that Orochimaru kidnapped 60 children and spliced their DNA with Hashirama's cells, with Yamato being the only survivor.

You guys should think more of this arc as a "What could of happened" scenario. It's nice since it fills in certain gaps (Ex: How Kakashi and Yamato already knew each other/had history when we first saw them interact, How Kakashi showed fear/uneasiness against Orochimaru during the Chunin Exams, etc.). However, these actual stories aren't canon.
