I think the red state / blue state differences on trans numbers is complicated even when looking at disapproval / approval. Additionally, some may be rethinking what it means if someone wants to explore what it might be like to be a different gender. Girls as tomboys has been a thing for decades. When cultural pressure made that strongly unwelcome and forcibly pressured females to act culturally female, some of those tomboys doubled down. Some stopped in order to avoid the pressure. As tomboyish girl and not a girly-girly I have appreciated the opportinity to become the woman I am.

2025-10-21 21:06:04 +0000 UTC“I resemble that remark” in regards to the old-ER (I don’t claim to be old yet…even though I’m almost 62! 😉) disciple not being connected to a local church. Most of my life has either been in vocational ministry in a local church as a pastor or community based youth ministry or in a Christian higher ed institution… but after stepping away from a tough church situation and also working in a homeless ministry and with people in recovery… I have just found it very difficult to find the right fit so to speak… I have found myself specifically looking for more of a liturgical and introspective experience after having been in a more driven evangelical context…
