I can see why Annie being brought back so late in game can bother some people, but imo i feel like Annie already served her purpose in season 1.

Next episode preview looks like just 1 chapter also. ⬇️And no spoilers just speculation. ⬇️ There was a supposed leak with the episode titles and they've all been right so far with the last episode 87 still leaving the last 8 chapters.

2022-02-21 02:48:03 +0000 UTCSome anime do 2-3 chapters per episode because the manga the show is based on is normally 20 pages per chapter. however Attack on Titan's manga chapter can be between 40-50 pages so that is why they don't cover as many chapters in an episode. One thing to note though is that they definitely are going at a slower pace, covering 1 chapter each episode where in previous seasons it would be about 1.3 to 1.5 chapters. If the rumor is true that part 2 will be 12 episodes and they keep the 1 chapter an episode formula then we will be left with 9 chapters by the end of the season. At that point we will have 2 options. A movie (which I'm still not sure if I want to happen since 9 chapters can be a lot to cover for a movie at least to me. unless the movie is like 3 hours long lol) or another part with 9 episodes (10 if they add some anime bonus content.)

I’m on Eren’s side to save his people and he knows a few 1000 dead as collateral is worth it compared to the whole population of the island. It’s the same way Armin and Erwin sacrificed soldiers for plans in earlier seasons, “throw aside your own humanity to fight the monsters”. Erwin sacrificed a whole district of people to try capture Annie in s1 and Eren knows that there’s no progress that can be made without sacrifice.
