I think a lot of people forgets the type of character Orihime is. She's not a fighter and they've brought it up multiple times in the show. Plus she is no where near the level to fight anyone in this arc. She couldn't beat the 7th or 8th seat Officer/shinigami in the Soul Society arc. (Also the fat dude isn't the one Orihime faced against, Ichigo one punched him in the soul Society)
