Dunno if anyone ever told you about the admirals, but they choose their Alias when they become Admirals. “Akainu” means “red dog”; “aka” means “red” and “inu” means “dog” (which we know from Naruto and Akamaru/Inuzuka clan) “Aokiji” means “blue pheasant”, “Ao” = blue, “Kiji” = pheasant “Kizaru” means “yellow monkey”, “ki” meaning yellow, “saru” meaning monkey (again, we know this from Naruto and Sarutobi with his monkey summoning).
