This is S2 EP10 aka "episode 34" on crunchyroll, the previous is 9 aka "episode 33" on crunchyroll, and so on and so forth. It looks like you labeled two different episodes as S2 EP8 twice in a row on accident on patreon. (Idk how I didn't notice before) Great episode as usual though! Glad to see you guys trying to figure out the weird stuff before they answer us. I will say though, it appears you may have mixed up who Maomao thought was "familiar". She was looking at Shisui when she made that comment, not the older lady who was running the ghost story event.

2025-08-15 05:46:32 +0000 UTCAs I mentioned in the comments on the previous episode: The "late emperor's" exiled daughter was born before the current emperor, which means she would be older than him. So, it wouldn’t make sense for someone younger than the current emperor or around the same age as MaoMao or Jinshi to be that daughter. Also, Ron, great observation and theory!👍🏻
