[Tidbits 2] - What's fascinating about Ulquiorra is that if you pay attention, you see that he's not attempting to be rude when speaking to Orihine, he's, asking genuine questions he doesn't seem to understand how or why she cares. In his mind, what they are doing is illogical. 2."I have no reason to kill you" Purpose is a big theme in this arc for Ichigo and the Espada, particularly each Espada has traits revolving around something I cant mention quite yet. Pay attention to how Ulqiourra keeps asking questions when it comes to people reacting emotionally. (As an aside the same applies to other main cast, here we saw rukia question what her purpose was, the same goes for Orihime, she questioned how she could achieve hers)

2025-09-18 17:43:04 +0000 UTC[Tidbits][Lotta Reading, My bad] - Bleach is phenomenal but not above criticism, and the general fandom is usually open to it as long as it's not something that's outrageously misunderstood. - In regard to the extended scenes of comedy, as many will have noted it's an issue for the anime-only. like most early 2000's long-running anime, they often had to prolong episodes to avoid catching up to the manga too quickly, so tactics like these were employed to achieve that. - Finally and most importantly. I must say this, cause it may open your perspective on this arc. You said it feels repetitive. Well, a major concept that Kubo employs here is an attempt to parallel the Soul Society arc (it's intentional); you, as the viewer/reader, are supposed to note the similarities. It's actually quite fascinating when you realize why it's done (I'll go into more detail when you guys finish the arc, cause I don't want to spoil) An obvious example is how Ichigo healed Ikkaku when he won during the SS Invasion, and here in the Hueco Mundo invasion, he does the same to Dordoni, but the difference is that, unlike with ikkaku, Ichigo is punished for it; therein, the mental lesson he gets is different. In general, these parallels are meant to bring to mind the position and roles of Shinigami and Hollows in the world and how these separate lenses affect Ichigo (amongst other things, but I'd have to write an entire book to explain it all.) I see some saying Kubo falters writing-wise here, but that is not true at all. It's more so that Kubo tends to pull back on the classic approach to shonen storytelling so it may confuse many, especially when he priortizes nuance, poetry, and themes over following the standard.

2025-09-18 17:25:39 +0000 UTCThe pacing in this arc is mostly bad because of the forced humor I between important stuff. Things that can be easily cut if thr anime got remade. Anime remake would be godly for bleach specifically. The current arc that came out this past few years had the author heavily involved in the process and even added new scenes (godly) that the manga skipped over but was severely wanted/needed. I hope for the same treatment to a remake if we ever get one.

2025-09-13 19:46:30 +0000 UTCRon dw we as a bleach fanbase are mad chill and not toxic. We aren't delusional and act like bleach is perfect, we know when our fav series has slow pacing issues and mid moments . But its only in this arc imo. Other than that it's peak. Just wait until TYBW

2025-09-12 17:15:14 +0000 UTCYes ron this part is where things are slow. It's the studio director's fault, Not the author kubo. Lots of padding

2025-09-12 17:07:48 +0000 UTCThis part and the middle parts of the arc that starts around 210 is bad pacing. Rest is good/fine tbh. I'd say this is the worst part for pacing or what has lead up to this

2025-09-12 16:29:06 +0000 UTCThat one of the biggest problem with bleach. The pacing is bad in some parts of the arcs but fear not in TYBW the pacing gets way much better.

2025-09-12 10:31:01 +0000 UTCImagine if they had to sit through through random filler arcs halfway thru the slow parts of the main arcs lol

2025-09-12 05:20:42 +0000 UTCYou think exactly the same as I do, but after watching the TYBW arc, my thoughts changed a little.

2025-09-12 04:41:01 +0000 UTCvalid criticism imo. Bleach has always been one of my favorites, and i grew up with the Big 3 so its certainly in my wheel house, but in general ive been less impressed with Tite Kubo as a storyteller. i don't want to color your own perceptions, but IMO Kubo's weakest asset is his beat to beat storytelling. thats probably a hot take, but his character design is stellar, his world building is awesome, but i stopped following Bleach because the storytelling imo starting getting pretty circular and bland.

2025-09-12 03:29:07 +0000 UTCYes this is the slow part of the anime. It should have been more hype but it got killed by pacing issues.
