If you guys wanted to watch a Gundam series for reaction, I'd recommend Iron Blooded orphans or Gundam 00. Both are newer series that stand alone. Gundam also has a shared universe called the Universal Century where a lot of stories take place, but that can be harder for new fans to jump into, especially because some of the shows are from the 70s and 80s and while the stories are great, some of the visuals are....rough.

2025-09-16 07:33:29 +0000 UTCIf you're ever interested in getting into mecha anime, I highly recommend Gurren Lagann. It's one of the best in the genre and a great entry point. There is also Neon Genesis Evangelion. When it comes to the Mobile Suit Gundam series, it's not as simple as picking any title to start with. The franchise is divided into different universes and timelines, with the Universal Century (UC) timeline being the core of the series. To truly understand the overarching story, it's best to follow a recommended watch order for the UC timeline. That said, I personally enjoy Gundam Wing and the Gundam SEED series. I also highly recommend Gundam 00 and Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, as both take place in standalone universes and are perfect for newcomers.

2025-09-13 06:37:19 +0000 UTCJust a little info dump here, the author is a fan of a series called ultraman and almost all the aliens in dandadan will have similarities too that series monsters(even the kaiju) and the gian mech they make takes inspiration from 1980 mecha anime that involve 4 or 5 people to build 1 giant robot.
