2025-09-19 05:48:42 +0000 UTCIn a lot of ways, the old OVAs (the original ones that start with The Fool vs The GEB from the early 90's) did a great job of turning the final acts of Part 3 into a kind of movie experience. It cut a lot of content, but like you said, a lot of that content can kind of drag. When they went back and did more OVAs in the 2000s though, those were a mistake and not as good. Edit: I do appreciate that the TV series gives us the full uncut experience though.
